Ok, I'm in ranting mode. WHY do people rent a film that clearly states why it's rated what it's rated, and then instead of REVIEWING the film, say how inappropriate they found it? I found a comment on a Lewis Black disc that my husband rented about how the comic used vulgar language. UH, yeah. Weren't you familiar with Lewis Black before you rented his DVD? If people can't handle the material then WHY are they members of NF? Maybe they should just sit home and stare at the ceiling. It's called life, people. Get on with it.
i agree. i will not say the members name or the movie but they rented it and on their review put how it wasnt good cause it wasnt really for their younger ones. I wish i could reach in here and slap them. If they would have read the reviews in the first page they would have known that! Almost all the reviews on the first page say how its more for older children not really any children unger the age of about 9. I just add whatever i want to my queue cause its just me who watches them. But if i were renting for kids AND myself then i would read the reviews and all the info on the movie first.
I am also sans kids, and wouldn't have it any other way. If I want to watch a film about decapitations, I can. And have. Only my dogs can object, but they usually sleep through the screaming anyhow.
Kids or no kids, wait till they're asleep and then watch the movie...right? I get all kinds of stuff my 9 yo shouldn't be watching, and she doesn't watch it.
My kids are grown and out of the house. I rent movies for myself and with myself in mind. I'm usually pretty hard to shock. I don't rent the stuff I know I will find objectionable and no one forces me to watch it. Freedom is a precious thing, and seems to be growing more so.
Honestly, it's a wonder that some people get their toothbrush in the right orifice sometimes. They rent French, Russian and Japanese movies, then complain that they weren't in English. They rent films rated R for language or nudity and complain about the profanity. I say we fence off Oklahoma and put these people there where they can't annoy or harm us any more.
