A Netflix Community

Ok, I'm in ranting mode. WHY do people rent a film that clearly states why it's rated what it's rated, and then instead of REVIEWING the film, say how inappropriate they found it? I found a comment on a Lewis Black disc that my husband rented about how the comic used vulgar language. UH, yeah. Weren't you familiar with Lewis Black before you rented his DVD? If people can't handle the material then WHY are they members of NF? Maybe they should just sit home and stare at the ceiling. It's called life, people. Get on with it.

I started a thread titled: Help remove those reviews that aren't!

I just looked at your link and all but number 1 are actual reviews. They are horrible reviews, but still reviews. The only time I flag something for not a review is when it says straight out they have never seen the film, it only talks about other reviews/ers and never addresses the movie itself, talks about the disc quality or timeliness of service, or is speculation on a movie that's not released yet. While I might give those reviews "not helpful" votes, they don't really qualify for flagging.

I would have commented on the page, but I don't want to join that group to do so.

The funny part that these people say "not for my family" and their kids are upstairs watching porn or britney spears videos while they're downstairs watching the entire film they "hated from the beginning" aha.

Once again, there's something wrong with our society if we don't stop this stupidity.I'd hate to have to be unpatriotic, but what reason is there to be if it means being a complete prude.

Gosh, I know this is conversation has been going on awhile, but i just saw a review for Jewel of the Nile:

"I chose this movie for a good action adventure. I relied on the PG rating to decide to rent this DVD for family movie night. Great, right? W-R-O-N-G! The language in this movie was entirely unnecessary and vulgar. It seemed they could just not stop swearing. The aboriginal dancing nudity was certainly not worthy of a PG rating. My 8 year old son was also scared at the scene where there was a knife held to the throat. I would say this is more of a PG-13 to R rating - renter beware!!!!! "

Let me tell you I was probably about 8 or 9 when I saw it and i am so damaged because of it. That scene where the knife was held to the throat turned me into a serial killer. Darn my father for taking me to see it. No wonder I turned out gay those dancing aboriginal breast horrified me for life. Oh, and they only gave it 1 Star.

I agree!! For all the trouble that people go through (jumping through hoops) just to get their movies rated for the big screen and then idiots that don't like to read completely ignore the ratings and descriptions, it is appalling. I hate it when someone hates a movie because it has subtitles!!! Are people so lazy now, that reading through a movie is too much to ask?...Their loss I guess Some of the best movies that I have ever seen have been foriegn. I don't think that ignorance is good excuse for anything.. we are generation with more information at our fingertips than ever before.. people are just lazy and dumb if they don't take the time to figure things out for themselves.

You can say that again! You'd think that after looking at a movie's release date on the page, they would actually figure out that PG-13 never existed until the mid 1980s. I figured that out a couple years ago, and I'm still a teenager, for Pete's sake. And what about those common sense media things on some of those pages(the colored square). And wouldn't it also say English(subtitled) for the dubbed movies? Obviously, though why it is, I'll never know. It takes only 10-30 seconds to look at that information sidebar.

There are thousands of cases of people being lazy, dumb, or both. And I'm not just talking about Netflix, either.
