Torchwood - 3 stars - I saw season 1 disk 1. The stories were good and I'm looking forward to more episodes of this. I could see the influence of Dr. Who.

Season 2 disk 2 of Extras - 4 stars - Laugh out loud funny series.

David Beckham: Life of an Icon - 3 stars Interesting documentary on Beckham's life.

The Tunnel - 5 stars - WOW - This is a great drama of a true story about championship swimmer Harry Melchior and a group who dug a 145 yard tunnel under the East Berlin wall to help a group escape. This movie is almost 3 hours and I put off watching it because it sounded too long but it was so rivveting I didn't notice the length. Great actors and really well done film. If you see this be sure and watch the extra showing how it was filmed. This is a must see for history buffs and German film fans.
Breir said of The Tunnel "Highly recommended for lovers of great movies".
Thanks Brier. I absolutely agree. What I should have said is "This is a movie everyone should see but it's a must for history buffs and German film fans."
The Tunnel looks pretty great - I'm going to add it to my queue. - Thanks !
music within. based on the true story of richard pimentel, an activist on behalf of non-discrimination laws for the disabled as well as a nationally recognized developer of diversity programs in the workplace. as a professional in human resources, this film appealed to me for more than just the inspiring message it sends, but the real-life impact its spirit has had on the places that we work today. 4/5 stars.

Please Don't Eat My Mother (1972)

Pretty funny drive-in nudie spoof of "Little Shop Of Horrors", from the early 1970's &
featuring Rene Bond.

Next up is:
Aventurera (1950)

This sounds fantastically bad, I just added it to my queue. Thanks!
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly which was highly recommended and a good watch but not something that I could buy. I couldn't give it as high a rating as I expected after all the hype so I was a little disappointed but a great film nevertheless...

I am Legend surprised me in that I could watch Will Smith and his dog for so long without wanting to shoot myself. He actually pulls it off.
"Iron Man" - i've heard it was too long. I didn't think so. Well done, and a good set up for sequels via good character development as an "intro" to characters.
But man! Those credits were really, really long to wait for teaser at end of credits.
I thought it was really long but I saw it in the theater surrounded by screaming, crying, wiggling children. Why would you take a 3 year old to a movie with subtitles? Why? If I had seen it in the comfort of my own home without all that crying, I might have not thought it was so long. This is why I don't go to the theater that often.

I agree with you about the long credits/teaser scene.
This weekend, I watched:

Pistol Opera Meh. 3 stars. All beauty, little substance.
Slaughter in the Snow The last film in the Mikogami trilogy. 4 stars.
Cops vs. Thugs Still formulating a rating and review. Waffling between 4 and 5 stars.
catacombs. 2 stars. there are some intense scenes that remind me of 'the descent' where they are trying to exploit our fear of the dark and tight spaces. however, unlike the descent, this movie does not take as full advantage of these fears as it could have. what's worse, it's way too slow, the ending is awful, and the parts that are actually supposed to be scary are not because of a distracting noise the slasher keeps making (if you've seen this, you know what i'm talking about). it had potential, but did not live up.
Just finished Last Life in the Universe. It's surreal and gorgeous and, while I have a number of theories, I'm still not sure I got all of it. Normally that would be incredibly irritating, but this is such a feast for the senses that I really don't care. Sit back, let your imagination kick in and don't worry about nailing every plot point and this one will get under your skin in a big way.
