Today we decided to go to the movies and watch "Iron Man" which was very good, a little slow at times, but nonetheless was a action filled with great special effects and some comedy added in for a lighter side.
Yesterday I watched China White Serpentine *** it was interesting and I kind of liked it but they didn't go far enough to make it memorable like other Sub-Rosa films have in the past i.e. Shattered Dead.
Ma Mere was next on the list but the disc was pretty banged up and had a big crack in it so I had to request another one.
Up next: The Water Horse I still haven't watched this damn movie yet!
Watching Eric Stanze movies is so hard. I didn't like that one, but I watched about half of Scrapbook and liked it a lot more.
The bad guy in Scrapbook is a refreshing change from the uber intelligent omnipotent type of serial killer you get from Hollywood. This guy is a thickheaded moron with no morals...probably a lot closer to the real world situation.
Now I have to put on the regalia and sit through 3 hours of graduation......ugh. The speaker this year is Jaime Escalante, the teacher from "Stand and Deliver" I love that movie so I hope he makes a good speech!
Yesterday: Steel City - 2 stars - I finally managed to stay awake through it but I thought it was dull and unimaginative. Good story but it needed to be put together differently I thought.
Gridlock'd - 4 stars - Really fun movie about two addicts trying to get into a government detox program. Tupac Shakur and Tim Roth star and I think they were great in this dark comedy.
The Boondock Saints - 4 stars- The average of all ratings is 4 stars but the top 3 reviews for votes are 1 and 2 stars and rottentomatoes has this at 18%. I almost didn't watch it but I'm glad I did because it's an over the top crime drama/comedy about two brothers out for vigilante justice. Willem Defoe plays a gay detective and is hilarious in this movie. This is fun.
