you guys are right! i don't know where i got that from! there's one part of Goya's Ghosts where they quickly show some of Goya's paintings and i could have swore i saw 'Girl with a...' as part of that clip, but i guess i was just looking for it. Thanks for keeping me on my toes Kym and MG! and the settings for both were clearly different parts of europe. momentary lapse on my part...
Just wasted almost 2 hours of my life watching AVP Requiem. Ok, I knew what I was getting into...but I figured there would be something good about it. I was very, very wrong. 0/5.
If you like westerns, and are unfamiliar with the Randolph Scott & Budd Boetticher "Ranown" series... this nicely restored 'Warnercolor' movie is now finally available on DVD, and it's a great place to start:
"Seven Men from Now" is a great revenge Western. TCM featured Boetticher last year, showing many of his films along with a fine documentary. Really excellent stuff. Randolph Scott is awesome as well, but I still can't hear his name w/o thinking of Blazing Saddles.
Just finished rewatching Once Upon A Time In China. Jet Li's choreography in this is so beautiful. The humor gets me everytime and the political statement about imperialism really hits home, even though it seriously downplays the level of violence against the Chinese nationals in Hong Kong.
