An awkward little film about the acting profession. Morgan Freeman carries the shy and feisty Paz Vega, who you imagine to be and understudy of Penelope Cruz, through a "clerks" like voyage without much reward save for a road trip.
Feels like and Almodovar thing at times. 3 star.

I just got back from a 5-day vacation but I can recommend a documentary I saw last week called Blue Vinyl.
Up next is The Orphanage, which I added to my queue based on reviews from other NF Community members. Also coming today is the documentary McLibel.
The Illusionist and Black Book are coming later this week.
Illusionist & Black Book are both awesome movies. The Orphanage is also in my queue for the same reason as yours, but I can't get myself to watch it, maybe it's because of the horror genre?
I understand exactly how you feel. I rarely watch horror films unless I'm sure they're very good.
However, I did watch another horror film from Spain called I'm Not Scared last year and I thought it was extremely well done.
i know you've said you've seen the reviews, but i hope you will give the orphanage a chance. it's a classy movie, and there's no gore or torture or over the top special effects. it's a simple ghost story, and it has become one of my top favs in horror. i wish there were more out there that were this chilling and made it look this easy.
The Orphanage and Them are great films. Very Hitchcockian. I really like horror but these two are about the best I've seen since The Sixth Sense. I shouldn't leave out The Audition - that freaked me out. shudder
It’s one of those where it’s so bad it’s good. Thanks for the suggestion! Pirates should be coming today so I’ll hold off another day until we receive Amores Perros.
