watched Strange Wilderness. First half was funny, but the end of the movie just proved they had nowhere to go with it. The dynamic between the actors was amusing for a bit.
We watched Corpse Bride... I am still putting off Mystic River... Maybe tomorrow....
carver. i was in the middle of it last night when our power went out for about 6 hours. i take it as a sign from a higher being. it was terrible.
The Girl Next Door - and this wasn't the Emile Hirsch comedy, but the psychological horror movie. I generally write reviews for all the movies I view, and I'm really struggling with this one - haven't decided quite yet, after sleeping on it overnight, if I liked it or disliked it. It'll all magically come out, as usual though, when I write a review later Today...
Mexican film "Dos Abrazos" (Two Embraces)
Four people forced to fend for themselves in life -- a burdened twelve-year-old boy, the cashier he has a crush on, an angry taxi driver and the estranged daughter of one of his passengers -- come together in two embraces.

Dos Abrazos
Garbo Talks, unappreciated and over looked, but really a very good movie.
dead again. i am a sucker for kenneth brannagh and emma thompson movies. however, much ado about nothing was better. dead again was entertaining, but predictable. 3 stars.
Watched The Tall Guy - Jeff Goldbloom and Emma Thompson are perfect in this movie. Emma Thomspson displays a spontaneous, slapstick, & totally hilarious comedic talent that we haven't seen from her since. The first time they had sex is an inspired farce. A delight in every way.
The Illusionist. Listed as a romantic thriller. Stars Edward Norton who gives a great performance as a magician from humble roots who tries to win the hand of a Duchess well above his social standing. Strong supporting performance by Paul Giammati as the Chief Police Inspector.
Very good special effects. 4 1/2 stars.

Next up is The Visitors, a French comedy about two Medieval Knights who are accidentally transported to the 20th Century by a senile sorcerer and must cope with modern life.
Very high ratings by NF members on the regular website.
bordertown. jennifer lopez is a reporter investigating the deaths of women in a factory town near the border of mexico and the u.s. strong performance by jlo, with solid support from antonio banderas. has some flaws, but still a very good watch.
Walerian Borowczyk's The Beast (La Bete) from 1975:

"Beauty and the Beast" with nudity and sex... It's actually pretty funny.
Great film!!!

Not for everyone though, that's for sure.
