A Netflix Community

Just discovered Redbox which I've been using for a couple of weeks. They are all over where I live and very convenient. No more not getting the movies 'at the top of my list'. No more waiting because I've been ordering too many movies. So far so good with Redbox. I've gotten all of the new releases I've wanted and I can reserve them online so I don't make a trip for nothing.
The best part is that it costs $1.00 to rent a movie.

it's perfect for people who have no taste in Film

Wow. Why so defensive? We're talking about movies right? Not starving children or the war in Iraq. You seem to be relatively easy to provoke. Judging by your insulting reaction I can only imagine that you are not a happy person.
Redbox carries the more mainstream new releases. No avante garde or arthouse etc. That is not what I use it for. Has nothing to do with my taste in movies, oh, excuse me, 'Film'.
People and relationships are all that really matter Jeldobar. You should stop lashing out at people you disagree with on such benign subjects as where you rent your movies. While our tastes in movies may differ, it does not make either one of us wrong.
While I don't know you from Adam, I sincerely hope your life gets happier!
Try lifting people up instead of putting them down.

Wow. Why so defensive?

I think Jeldobar is more addressing the motives of a Redbox post in the Netflix Community forums, rather than he is attacking the person who left said comment.

While I can't speak for Jeldobar's tactics, I too wonder about the motives of a person who drops into the Netflix community forums and leaves one or two posts about why Redbox is so good, and why Netflix is so bad? If it wasn't out of competitor promotion or for the desire to rattle cages here, then please pardon our misinterpretation of your intentions.

My apologies. I guess I assumed that since there is a forum for competitive movie services, people were interested in hearing the pros as well as the cons. I see that this category, which I did not create, is really a place to put down other movie services and not a place to post about a competitor that may actually provide a good service. I would suggest a name change to something such as 'Bashing Competitive Services' if you only want negatives.
I mean really, this was only my opinion which as a current member of Netflix (still) I dropped in and posted on the netflix forum. I thought forums were designed for discussing different opinions. Clearly that is not the case here so I will bow out. Sorry if I offended anyone. I really did not think that a movie rental company would inspire such fierce loyalty amongst it's contributors.
I mean really...
McDonalds or Burger King?
Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts?
Goodyear or Firestone?
Ford or Chevy?
Yankees or RedSox?
Coke or Pepsi?
It REALLY does not matter.

Perhaps we did misinterpret your intentions. But even after rereading your commentary, it shouldn't be difficult to realize how feathers got ruffled, even though it was placed in the correct category. Again, the validity of your argument is not what was put to task, but rather your intentions.

For instance, I just went to the Almaden Winery web site forums and left a single post about how the Pinot Grigio put out by The Bernardo Winery is better than Almaden's and how Almaden's always tastes a bit bitter. How do we think my post will be received by those Almaden enthusiasts?

And you are right, it really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but on the other hand, many here watch several movies a week and are true movie buffs and cinephiles. I've been blown away by not only the numbers of films watched (in some cases 8-12 per week) but also by the amount of movies knowledge held by those who hang out here. It's very easy to get humbled in a big hurry.

Probably just a genuine misunderstanding by a bunch of movie fans, but hope I've helped in explaining how the misunderstanding took place. =)

Thems fighting words there missy. Everybody knows Coke is it. Pepsi is what Coke tastes like after you leave the bottle open for a day then add another cup of sugar to it. :-)

I dont know what Redbox is... but thank you for letting some of us know that there are options... YOU are right... the post does say Competitive Movie Services...and they should respect that.

If the post was NETFLIX Lovers only..then yes..your comment would be out of line.

thanks now i learned something new.. redbox. oh but it sucks by the way. =)
