A Netflix Community

What do you still want to see on the Netflix site? (Let's leave out the obvious few since we know about them and know how much you want them: >500 things in queue, 1/2 stars, mac-based instant watching, linux support, 7-day shipping, etc.)

What ELSE?

I would like to be able to make a queue of just the movies I intend to Watch Instant ... it would be separate from movies I intend to get by mail.

Limit Views by Rating
I would like to limit the movies that I can view by their rating. For example, I would not like to see anything over PG13. This would help me weed through recommendations and instant movies as well.

I think that it can be done already, if this is the case, here's a step by step:

1. Go to the top of the netflix website, next to your name, you'll see this link "Your Account",
2. After clicking on that, click on the link that says "Account Profiles",
3. Click on "Edit" next to the profile you wish to change,
4. Click on "Maturity Level" and choose the level you wish to have access to only.

Wow, maybe I'll limit myself to G-rated movies so I can imagine what hell is like!!!

I don't think it will be hell as much as it would be an "experience"!

I'd like a way to look through my friends/faves reviews a little more easily than having to click their names...

It might be cool to have some sort of way to see shared movie reviews... like if I reviewed "Away From Her" and so did one my friends... I'd have the ability to easily see their review.

Beyond that, I wish that the "featured" review or note in the community section would change more frequently...

I would like a way to leave notes about movies I've watched; I think Netflix used to have these and they were called Movie Notes but that was before I started paying attention. As I'm becoming more open to having anonymous friends, I'm realizing I still don't know these people well enough to personally send them a note about a movie. But it would be nice if someone wanted to know what I thought, they could just look it up. Then I wouldn't feel like I'm forcing my thoughts on someone, especially about a movie they might not even be interested in.

Just a thought: There's a blog function here on ning, so you could leave small blog postings about the movies you see, and other people could then look at your blog and see what you thought of the movies you've seen. Might not work if you see thousands of movies per year, but it's a start, isn't it? Besides, if Netflix does at some point implement what you suggest, you can just copy/paste from your blog.

1. Capability to split up the Watch It Now hours among multiple users of an account, the same way you can split up the DVDs on multi-DVD accounts.
2. Ability to limit a search result set to just those movies in the "Watch It Now" format.
3. Ability to sort/narrow searches in Genres by Release Year, Subgenres.
4. Ability to "drill down" in DVD lists (e.g. Most Popular, Newest Releases) by Genre (not just showing me "Top 25 horror movies").
5. Show me an icon, symbol or other indication *everywhere* when a movie is "Watch Now" enabled - e.g. the new New Releases page.

1. The hours are unlimited - if you have a basic account that limits hours you don't have enough DVD's at home to setup multiple account profiles. Makes sense?

Other suggestions noted :-)

A change to "Invite friends" Privacy

I only want certain ratings shown to my younger family members and i want all movies shown to more mature friends.
I know you can go 1 by 1 and check movies you dont want shown. That is not a real solution.

A better way would be to have a option per invitation... "Select Ratings To Show" ()G () PG ()PG13 ()R ()NC
OR "Dont Show these ratings" ()R ()NR ()NC-17
OR "Show All "
These would not be seen by the recieving member.

or something like that. Right now i dont invite or accept because i would need different ratings for different people. There is no way to show mature movies to some while not showing them to my younger nephews. Right now it is the same for all members.

I hope this makes sense.....Take Care
