A Netflix Community

What do you still want to see on the Netflix site? (Let's leave out the obvious few since we know about them and know how much you want them: >500 things in queue, 1/2 stars, mac-based instant watching, linux support, 7-day shipping, etc.)

What ELSE?

sometimes I find the answer myself just expressing the problem out loud with someone nearby.

Sonys are good but why can't you use IE and Windows? It should work slick as snot esp. on a VAIO.

A go-to person is anyone who has time or occasion to pitch in. I don't often have time but when I do it's nice to spread the love. Netflix is my home away from home?

just installed the explorer emulator, works like a charm. thanks for the tip.

i love my shiny new vaio, and i haven't found any problems with vista so far (and, subsequently, i really don't understand all the hate for it), so i don't know what's up with explorer. i guess i just got spoiled with firefox' speed, or maybe my internet connection just peters out at all the wrong times.

at any rate, thanks again for your help. that's a few less petty complaints from me.

More new releases in the Play Now/Instant Watch. It would reduce the demand for the physical DVDs.

i agree, especially miniseries and television shows. it's a little annoying to have it spread out over five discs (valuable movie space!).

of course, i don't know what goes into the process of making things available online, so i'll just keep my mouth shut for now, but i'd be interested to find out.

I think it has a lot to do with contract negotiations and digital rights management software.

I would really like to see a date associated with each review. I know the site now groups some reviews as Most Recent, but more detail would help me decide whether people are still saying the same (negative or positive) things.

Rereading this, I'm not sure I was clear: I want to see a date and time automatically assigned to a review when it's written and submitted to Netflix.

I went back to page 19 to find the last mention; previous ones existed too. My weblog here is probably the best place to look for every comment.

Yep, the good ole random/shuffle suggestion. It's been mentioned a few times in this thread.

Hey I have a suggestion for the suggestion thread: I wish there was a way to rank the suggestions based on the number of people that post about it. Like a most popular suggestion ranking list. Heh, anyone wanna volunteer? :)

That'd be nice for people who have control of their queues and would like to play with them a bit but I suspect it would be trouble for those who post all those "reviews" protesting how Netflix put the wrong movie in their queue and could Netflix please put the right movie in their queue and move it up to the top for them. (See the Reviews That Are Not Reviews forum if you would like to help flag and remove these cries for help that would litter the reviews sections if left to moulder.)

There used to be several Greasemonkey scripts that shuffled the Netflix queue (requiring Firefox + the Greasemonkey addon) but from the comments, it looks like they were all broken by various site redesigns.
