I'm sorry but Netflix does not support IE8 at this time. It's classified as experimental. We follow the same graded browser support classifications as Yahoo.

Check out Microsoft's release notes for IE8 beta 2 here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949787.

They are aware of this issue and supposedly working with Netflix to resolve this issue. No idea how long the resolution might take. Looks like a coding issue with Netflix's site and the code to verify IE version for the Watch Instantly feature. The rest of the site seems to work for me though.

Hence, that's why IE8 is Beta aka don't use it until it's official(IMO).
