I wonder how common this is. I understand it is Unavailable as far as Netflix is concerned, but people still might want to read the reviews. The movie pages should not be orphaned.
UPDATE: Just want to note that as of today 8/29, this particular movie is no longer orphaned and now appears with a Add button instead of a Not Available button. I still hope this can be resolved in general. No orphaned movies, please!
It is kind of Twilight Zone-ish but reviewers have the option of reposting their reviews on movie pages that are current. I have the same issue with Blade Runner: Theatre Version now that Director's Cut and Final Cut are out, however, I plan to write separate reviews for each edition since they are different movies.
I keep an extensive Unavailable list that I document in a separate discussion thread and in my Community weblog but let me post an excerpt here from today's entry:
Unavailable titles that became Add titles this week:
Hellcats in High Heels
The Great Debaters: Bonus Materials
Adventures of Scamper
Current number of titles in my Unavailable list: 382
Use this list to find titles that no longer come up in Search or Recommendations and to request Netflix to restock titles it has dropped (using the Title Request link under Contact Us).
I now have two Unavailable title lists (since I have confirmed 430 to be pretty much the upper limit in list size) totalling 760 titles, however, 100 of the links no longer come up as identifiable pages since they have been purged from the system.
I'm now 88 movies into a third Unavailable list and counting. BTW it's interesting how Wowwee came up with two Unavailable lists each with 430 titles (just like mine) in fact with the same movies except for 10 ones I didn't have (out of 760). (I also have a pool of hundreds more to add from my Not Interested list when I get time.) I asked him why we had basically identical lists though mine had been posted first and he said he'd built his on his own. (I have no reason to doubt him.) Anyhow I now have about 750 Unavailable titles and nearly 5,000 Save titles listed.
