I've never had the desire to click the "add" button on "No Reservations". It's trailer rubs me off the wrong way. I'm no remake hater, but the original was good enough. Did you see the original first?
Yeah, I saw the original first and thought the remake was a bit sub par. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone that's seen the original. However, for anyone that's hesitant to see the original, I might recommend it. I guess it's weird logic.
Weird logic indeed. Perhaps I just belong to the group who rarely venture to watch remakes when the original is superior in quality. Although I do understand people's hesitations to watch films not on their native language or dubbed onto theirs.
There's an English-language adaptation of Eat, Drink, Man Woman called Tortilla Soup that I really like as well. As the name implies it focuses on a Mexican-American family instead of a Chinese family, but it does stay true to the story. Lots of good Mexican food in this one.
