Hello. I noticed that the first disc of the Beatles Anthology is in my 'saved' category, and has an availability date of 'unknown'. However, I have read some internet posts of people who have rented this from netflix. Does this mean that there is such a long wait for it that the availability is unknown, or something else? Perhaps the majority of copies have been stolen? I'm new to netflix, so I'm curious!
Usually what that means is that the last "rent-able" copy has now become destroyed, and Netflix doesn't know when it will be re-released.
I just checked and it shows the same for me, so that's likely to be the reason why. It was released April 2003, so most likely (as is true for many series) there's not an distributor that has just the first disk available, and so it simply sits in your saved until it does, or until Netflix is able to purchase sufficient Qty's of the entire 5 disk series again to replace the missing first disk.
Excellent, thank you. So usually in this case, they will buy more copies? I know this is probably impossible to answer, but how long does the process of acquiring new movies take?
One last question - is it possible to rent the other discs in the series, or does netflix make you rent them in order?
