I know there's a topic for movies you've watched recently, but what movies have you seen recently that you liked so much that you purchased them? Or even if you haven't seen it, what movie are you so excited for you knew you just had to own it even before seeing it?

I've only seen the American Version so far, but I expect I'll really enjoy the Masters of Cinema release of Gandahar I just ordered.

I assume you have a region-free dvd player(I'd love to see this). If so, are the players & dvds expensive?

My DVD player is region 1 originally, but almost all DVD players have a hack that is easy to find and easy to do to make your DVD player region 0, just google the model number and something like "region 0 hack" or something, and you should find it pretty easily, hell sometimes even the comments on amazon have it. What you need to make sure you get though is a DVD player that can convert a PAL signal to NTSC, these aren't hard to find, you've just got to make sure the one you have does it. I got mine for $40.

As for the price of DVDs, it can vary a lot, and since I'm usually buying very obscure films I often end up paying $20-$30 per DVD. However something like Gandahar only cost me $15.

I know as soon as it comes out i'll be going to the theaters to see it. Probably the first time since The Exorcist the Beginning came out that i've been to a theater. I will most likely buy it on dvd when it come out as well. Good or bad i've always like this franchise. The last couple of movies i bought was Halloween the Rob Zombie version, The Departed, The Big Lebowski, That's all i can think of right now.

I pretty much don't buy films for myself(Clerks II was the last one), but I did purchase this for my son(and I like the show too):

Iron Man was the last film I purchased.

not as much fun the second time around.... it felt very Altmas-esque, something I didn't pick up when I watched it theatrically.

Last movie I purchased was The Third Man, and I preordered Wall-E.

I think the last thing we bought was Transformers the Movie (from '86 animated). We haven't had a VCR in almost a decade now and we have a few little things that had to be replaced on DVD and that one was a must.

I just purchased the original Black Christmas and got it signed by John Saxon. Also purchased Demons and got it signed by Lamberto Bava. *happier than a pig in you know what!*

last two movies i bought were baby mama and sex and the city. Im a cheater and i usually have a friend make copies of movie for me so i dont have to buy. But sometimes when i have the money on me and im in the store i will buy a movie. Baby mama i bought before watching. I knew i would like it cause i love tina fey. Sex in the city i had seen in the theater and i HAD to have it lol. I prefer horror movies but with the horror genre its usually a 50/50 chance. You just never know so i usually rent horror and if i like then i buy. I wasted my money a few times on horror movies that looked and sounded great but when i watched oh man it was a sh*ty.
