funny thing to see your queue movies sit for 2 months before shipped ,and then have it told to you by netflix that it is your fault for having to many new releases in your queue.tell me again ,because i thought was next day they sent out your movies.maybe i missed the fine print about actually being whenever they feel like it.
Erik, I think if you'll read around through the postings you'll see that most here are very happy with the service they receive from Netflix. Also, I think you'll find other postings about the waits for new releases. If you like to get all the new releases, then Netflix may not be the service for you. There are millions of other people wanting those same hot new releases and it's just not possible to have all in stock for everybody. Some prefer to satisfy their new release habit by occasional visits to the local Blockbuster store.

Guilty! I went there on Friday and actually couldn't find anything new that was worthwhile. So I settled on some older titles. As good as NF is, you can't beat brick'n'mortar for those impulsive moments.
But I really should have just gone to the library. The pisspoor shelving/"organization" they have for their non new releases makes it seem like BB doesn't expect anyone to even look at anything not on the new releases wall.
Man, do I ever miss having a good independent video store around...Things tended to be organized as if someone who actually loves movies had done it.

I hear you brother, the sad thing is good independents would have thrived under the DVD pricing structure, but just couldn't survive the shocking "priced for rental" VHS prices.
Erik, NF is the Southwest Airlines of rental services. They are cheap and reliable. If you want to fly first class you have to pay a lot more. I average about $1.25 per disc. You just can't beat that.
Sure, I love Netflix. I have however, read the Terms of Service and understand the realities of running a profitable business. In addition, I don't mind waiting a few months to see a movie. If I was in a big rush to see it, I would have caught it in a theater 6 months earlier. Or, I'd go down to Blockbuster on the Tuesday it came out and pick it up then.
Netflix is far from perfect. Their purchasing and shipping habits may have been a bit more consumer friendly back when they were just trying to establish the model rather than establish long-term profitability. I wish they were more transparent regarding how many cycles per month I could expect before long-range shipping cuts in(but I think I've figured it out).
Netflix provides the greatest selection of titles I've ever dreamed of and delvers them for comfortably under $2.00 per disk. If you can find that anywhere else let me know. This being said, if you have VERY mainstream tastes and you can get to a Blockbuster every Tuesday, a Total Access membership might be a better deal.

That's not very realistic, however.
Publishing the precise algorithm sets unrealistic expectations with customers and prevents them from being flexible in day to day operations and in making long-term changes. Being too specific also causes more unhappiness with customers because they will all find some "unfair" detail to bitch about.
Not to mention that it would give their competitors an easier time of copying their successful methods.
I also wish I could fly and that we could all just get along. Wishing and expecting are two very different things. I understand, I just wish it were another way.
Well I can tell ya for me, netflix is back to their usual standards of sending my new release since the outage last Monday when I missed the release of Them! I will be getting a copy of Sweeney Todd in the mail tomorrow. For me, they always send the new release upon the release date 1. if it's at the very top of my queue by Sunday and 2. as long as I have returns in by Monday a.m.! So there you have it.
Hi emma lee, and welcome to the community. I'd like to point at that often your queue status is not being displayed in real-time. In other words, sometimes a title is shipped out without it being denoted as such in your queue. So, it's quite possible that your next movie could have shipped and it's just not telling you that.
And another thing to point out - if you're not happy with the level of service you are receiving from Netflix you have several options to take, but I'm sure you've already let Customer Service know of your dissatisfaction. There are other on-line DVD rental services out there and there's always the brick-and-mortar rental stores as well. If you like to watch all the new releases, chances are Netflix will not be the best option for you. Continuing to put money in Netflix's pocket if you are not satisfied with the level of service is poor consumerism. Remember, you have options, vote with your money.
They can't send you all the new releases right when they come out. Sometimes you get one sometimes you dno't. But if that's all you have on your queue then that's all they can send. If nothing is available due to popular demand and low inventory (because it's new) then they do what they can. I love Netflix and have never had any trouble. Two damagaed disks, no problem it happens. Also one time some neighbor kid stole my movies and netflix again was great about it. No finger pointing. I'm sorry friend but you seem alone on this one.
