Commodus is far too high on that list. Hannibal Lecter needs to be much, much higher.

yeah, I'm not sure about their listing practices; whether it is best to worst, or maybe the next list will be the top 25. We shall have to wait and find out.

I know someone here might also take issue with the placement of Mitchum's Harry Powell :)

This might sound sappy, but was ol' Darth truly vile? I mean, he had goodness within him that emerged at the end, right?

Khan would torture people for information, without compunction, which is admittedly vile but Amon Goeth, would torture people just for amusement and was therefore WAY more vile, in my opinion.

How about Norman Stansfield (Gary Oldman) from Leon? One of my most memorable, at least.

19. The Child Catcher -- Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Robert Helpmann)

About the only thing I remember from Chitty Bang. A very odd creepy character, and when Michael Jackson's mug shot from a few years ago was published he was the first thing I thought of.

I agree with a lot of these picks but now they need to add Javier Bardem for No Country For Old Men to this list! Chigurh was an extremely vile villain! lol

I second the inclusion of Chigurh! That was one bad dude... and he used one of the most sadistic weapons ever on film.

Noah Cross from Chinatown kinda surprised me on this list. True he was a creep, but not in the same category as Hannibal Lector or Leatherface IMO. Maybe he should've been farther down on the list...
