Shows that only had one season or less, but should have lived on for years.

My pick would be Earth 2.
The story lines were well planned out and the characters were distinct.
I loved that it was not another Sci-Fi show that depended on
half-naked women and crazy space creatures that you only saw for one episode.

Earth 2 -- I wholeheartedly agree. Great show.

A few others I wish had been given a chance:

Threshold was another smart, savvy sci-fi show that was a cut above the usual. Might have stood out more if there hadn't been a glut on alien invasion shows in 2005.

Smith: I should have known with that talent and those production values, it was doomed. I had hope, though.

Key West: A great little Fox comedy from 1993, starring Fisher Stevens as a fish out of water who lands in the Keys after a windfall. Really choice. Still not out on DVD either. For shame, for shame.

The Tick is available on Netflix to WI. I missed it when it was on TV but watched it online and thought it was hysterical!!

American Gothic. I wasn't a viewer when it originally aired, but having rented the dvds (which still have the episodes out of order!) I'm saddened it didn't last longer. But, switching around when it's on, and especially shuffling the order of the episodes so the storyline stops making sense would kill any show.

Undeclared

I don't think ran for more than one season. A show that hardly anybody ever saw because no one (including me) could ever figure out when it was going to be on. It would be pre-empted for weeks in a row by American Idol and if by some miracle it actually was on the time kept shifting about. And then it would often be a repeat.

I had gotten a free sweatshirt of Earth2 in the mail from emerchadise.com. I gave it to my dad and he tells me it gets a wide variety of comments. One lady ask him "if that was his band." The majority though remember and love the show.

Well lets see ... There was The Dresden Files & Firefly. Then for a 1 1/2 or 2 seasons we have Dead Like Me & Tru Calling.

I definitely agree about Dresden Files. My super picky husband is a big fan and it was one of the few shows we could actually agree upon.

I second that! Really enjoyed watching Dresden Files. I can't believe Paul Blackthorne went on to be on the drivel that is (was?) Big Shots. Such a waste.

I agree with all of these. Why does Joss Whedon always get the shaft?

He gets another shot next week ("Dollhouse").

I think moving the show to a Friday night slot will give it a chance to find an audience and not have to worry about pulling in astronomical ratings had it appeared Monday-Thursday night.
