I'm not really complaining because I get one or more new release from Netflix every week, but every once in a while they will pile up (too many good new releases on one day) and I can't get them all on the Tuesday they come out. Unfortunately, this means they get into that dreaded "long wait" state in my queue. I'm sure that's happened to everyone, so I was wondering ...
what is the oldest "long wait" movie in your queue (i.e. the movie in your queue that you've been waiting for the longest since its release)?

For me, it is "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford". It's been sitting in my queue in "long wait" since it's release on Feb 5, 2008 (so 10 weeks now). I figured the hype would die down after Oscar season, but I guess it's still pretty popular.

I understand you. I'm not complaining either because I'm getting lots of others including new release but the longest wait so far has been for American Ganster which released 2/19. Before that it was The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. That one was almost 2 months but was worth the wait.

I'd have to say Rob Zombie's Halloween was the longest I had to wait for a new release

hey p-bum,

that's what is known as a blessing in disguise ;-)

I added "Cries and Whispers" not long before Ingmar Bergman died last summer. It sat at the top of my queue for about two months after he died but it never said there was any wait. It said it was available but it would still get skipped over every time they sent me a new movie. I guess they just didn't update the status on it or something.

"The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" and every new release since then is parked on my queue. They all bubbled up from "unknown" status over time, and every other non-new release has been delivered.

The longest "very long waits" are Man Eater and The Curse of the Jade Scorpion. I'm expecting them to slip into "Saved" any time now.

At #338 and #355 in my queue, I'm not concerned.

As predicted, Man Eater dropped to saved a couple of weeks ago.
To Live takes up position #2 in the longest wait category, behind The Curse of the Jade Scorpion.

I have no long waits, and no short waits on any of my titles currently

GASLIGHT!!
Seems like I've been waiting since the films' debut?

I have 1 or 2 long wait out of 250 q'd movies. No filler, I want to see everyone of these buggers.

My gripe is my SAVED queue: 20 titles and growing. At least 1/2 of these I know are in print and readily available for purchase.

My perspective on getting even more copies of "hot" "new" mainstream titles is that this needs to be tempered with some attention paid to SAVED queues of library titles and more obscure releases. I don't have the luxury of finding these at the local Lacklusters so my options are to either wait or buy.

What he said.

I have 60 titles in my saved section. It was 61 but one of them just went unavailable.

What they said, though my saved queue is only 8 deep.

OTOH, they seem to be the unavailable except for $20 on eBay type, plus one tv series that TIME/Life is advertizing on current commercials.

BTW, Sam Fuller and Woody Allen are never just filler.

What they both said.

I have 18 in my saved section and I know that at least have of those are available for purchase through Amazon.com.
