like many NF users, i have a list of movies to queue when the space comes available in my queue. but, as you can see, that list has become an uncontrollable monster. so i've undertaken the possibly insane quest of breaking down that huge list into several smaller ones, first by director, then (eventually), by genre and/or country and time period. in other words, i have way, way too much time on my hands i need convincing that no, i am not a total loser for devoting time and energy to this.*
You mean, do we think you're crazy for watching ALL of Hitchcock, and ALL of Bergman (for example)? Or Scorsese, Truffaut, Herzog, Tarkovsky, Hanecke, and Bresson, to name just a few I saw on your list?
This may be the wrong crowd to diagnose such an illness. But, no, sweetie. You're not crazy and you're sure not dumb.
Spreadsheets can do a lot for you. As can www.listsofbests.com where you can make (or subscribe to other) lists till your heart's content. But be careful, that place is addictive!
But no, you're not crazy. And not a total loser. ;-)

I once spent 3 hours categorizing my queue of 500 by genre, but I'm fairly certain you went way past me. Crazy or just dumb? Neither of course. Just very dedicated to your movie enjoyment.
Well, after adding the four from Tommy's list (they were all French films that I didn't know were out, yeehaa!) I have a whopping 17 films in my queue. I never get more than 30 or so. That makes me the oddball in this bunch!
I agree. Professor is now at the top of my list for King of Kooks.
I would never have imagined him as someone with only 17!! in his queue, but, hey, he might be on to sumpin' here. I admit I've got about 497 in my queue right now, but I really only use the very top and bottom 17!! at any one time.
I gotta rethink this.
