Sometimes I just Burn Out from watching so many DVD'S. I get to the point where I will have a bunch of DVD'S un-opened, and I cannot bring myself to watch anything new. I will only watch something that is familiar. Sometimes it lasts only for a few days, and sometimes weeks. I just seem to Burn Out. I had a stack of DVD's, I never watched them, so I just sent them back. I used to keep Hundreds of Titles in my Queue, and as a result when I would get to certain titles, could not remember why I even put them in the queue. Does anyone else ever have that happen?

I like that about the overstuffed queue (unless it's a bad movie). If you can keep your paws off your queue, it's great to have surprises instead of the micromanaged "viewing schedule."

It IS hard to resist the allure of sneaking new releases to the top of the queue, or fiddling around with the order of stuff. So now I have a profile that's for the "new" stuff, and one that I leave alone. Keeps me on my toes, keeps things fresh, and even if I don't think I'm "in the right frame of mind" for something, I obviously queued it because I was curious about it and/or thought I'd like it.

I've not really been in the mood for movies.

Words .. do not .. compute.

Actually, maybe you both need to switch things up for a while. I recommend learning to play cribbage.

Turn Off Your TV Week is coming up -- September 20-26. That might be fun for you. (I envision you participating in some of the activities and taunting people with tv withdrawal jitters by telling them how relieved you feel NOT to be watching stuff.)

You know I have toyed with that very notion, but have been unable to keep my eyes and hands offa my Queue . Constantly shuffling arranging and generally just messing with my titles ,as you say micromanaging my Q has become kinda like a sick twisted fetish "remember the poor little feller in The Boston Strangler that had a ladies hand bag collecting fetish his closet was full of em!....
I'm not burned out yet I still watch every film I get unless it's so bad I can't finish it.

I don't think I could go a week without TV. I wouldn't even try that. But it is a interesting concept.

Do what I did first cut back on your plan. I used to do 3 then 4 at a time. I found now 1 at a time forces me to choose only flix I really think will be worth my time and I try to work it so I have one land at home for the week end so Saturday night at the movies feels like an event.

I've been trying the instant watch, works pretty good. That way sometimes I can see some obscure stuff, and if I do not like it I just click it off.

I have about 10 titles in my queue, and I am back up to 5 titles at a time. and over 30 or so in SAVED I don't think I'm at the point of putting the account on hold. I think I will drop down to 3@X. Not comfortable going below 3. God forbid that there should never be anything in the pipeline. Anyway I just pulled 4 out of the mailbox this morning and have not even open them yet.

Definitely happens to me a lot. Usually I just fluctuate between obsessively watching as many movies as I can, and just watching 1 a day or so, but then I have my really dry spells where I won't watch anything for a week or more. Just gotta ride through it til it's over. Sometimes I force myself to put a movie on even if I'm not in the mood, and I still end up enjoying it.

I've got 4 queues all near 500, and I don't remember why most of the stuff that's there is there. I feel like it's a lot of the same movies, and I never actually get to watching them. My queue is constantly shifting, if it's not in the 1-3 slot, chances are it's getting pushed down before I get to it.

That's me all over. One day I just went into my queue and deleted everything, down to about 5 TITLES. I deleted Hundreds of movies. I just had got to the point I could not relate to my own queue. Like you said, Just gotta ride it out.

As someone else has mentioned, just cut back on you plan. I change the plan a couple of times a year. Before the 4th of July I up it by one or two, after the US Open I drop it back down until near the end of the year when I up it by about two, then lower it again in early January.

If you were going to WalMart of SevenEleven you would change your renting quantity decisions, wouldn't you?

I'm at the same stage. I know cutting back to one-at-a-time and placing "must-see" movies at the top of the queue is the right solution, but I keep thinking, what if this malaise is only temporary? What if I want to watch four movies next week? But, next week arrives and ... meh. :)
