Can I remove the Instant feature?

I'd like to disable the instant watch feature. We find it's too easy for the kids (adults too, actually) to spend too much time in front of the screen. I would rather make our Netflix viewing not so "instant" but I don't see how to remove the feature. Note: I'm using the Mac beta version. Maybe it has some limitations at the moment?

Also, like a lot of people have said, it is very simple to put restrictions on your computer and if your kids have their own computers then they will be spending a lot of time in front of the screen anyway.; ▶ Reply to This

The OP is asking for some technical hurdle to be installed that makes it harder/impossible for him/her to click on the IW tab and then click "Play". What does the OP have in mind? A built-in delay ("Your movie will begin in 45 minutes")? A feature to "uninstall" the IW tab so it can't be clicked in the first place? That can be circumvented too, you can just re-install it.

What the OP needs is to create separate profiles/queues, that way the childrens' IW consumption can be controlled and parental controls implemented on their DVD queues. The only thing that is then needed is for the OP to grow a little spine, and not use the IW himself.; ▶ Reply to This
