I just ponied up the extra dosh for the Blu-Ray "privelige" and specifically ordered up a movie in Blu-Ray, just to try out my new improved home theater setup. Wouldn't you know it? I got the standard-def version of the movie.

I just spent better than a half hour trying to fine an e-mail address to contact somebody about it and no soap. Some serious scrounging netted me 6 sdifferent customer service phone numbers. All 6 start to ring and then go off like a Gestapo high-low-high-low siren.

I'd heard horror stories like this but never thought I'd be up against this kind of blatant stonewalling. This stinks.

I just called 1-866-716-0414 and was greeted with a recording that said, "Thank you for calling Netflix. Your call will be answered in about one minute." Thirty seconds later I was talking to a live person.

I thought it was a typo with the word "dosh"; I even googled it. Sure enough via the Urban Dictionary it's there-that's what you get when you live around hillbillies long enough.

That's a horror story? Can't you watch regular dvds on blue-ray players? I know it's not ideal, but it seems better than worrying about it and going through all that hassle.

Apparently you've never heard six phones blaring with Gestapo sirens.

A couple years back or so, 60 Minutes aired a report about Netflix and how great it was. The only negative thing that I saw in the article was that you couldn't find Netflix' telephone number easily. Even Reed Hastings couldn't find it. No big deal, I thought, Netflix had always been an online company and I thought preferred to do their customer service by e-mail.

Shortly thereafter, their e-mail service was all but removed, and now they prefer to do things by telephone. Fortunately, it's 24 hours a day, AND they give you a 6 digit code on the website, so when you call, you get priority because they know you're a good customer.

Try again, don't give up. Perhaps you'll even get a free rental or two out of the deal, especially now that we're paying extra for Blu-rays.

after you sign up for BR it usually puts your Br available movies in BR in your queue - but sometimes it may not. always gotta check your queue - since you can toggle btw BR and DD in it - so if it was on dd, you'll get DD.
otherwise just call cs if it was in Br on actual queue and says Br on the "at home section" - and Cs should set you up to get sent back out in BR
