A Netflix Community

New feature, what do you think?

http://blog.netflix.com/2009/03/share-ratings-with-facebook-connect...

I set it up, it triggers for new ratings, or you can hit the star bar on a movie you have already rated and want to talk about. Then a comment thread starts up on Facebook with easy links to the movie display page, and to add to your queue immediately.

Does it only work in one direction - i.e. Facebook will get Netflix movie ratings, but Netflix won't get Facebook information, right?

I don't think so. I set mine up a while ago.

Would this interrupt any privacy information?
i.e. identities, pictures and such...

I made the connection to Facebook, kinda nifty.

Now if I could just get the Jinni.com connection to work. It has failed about 50 times in a row. Don't know if it is a problem on Netflix's end or Jinni's.

Jinni has not responded to me either.

I was able to get the Jinni connection to work but it only imported about half of my reviews from Netflix. Jinni functionality in general is very lacking right now, though.

Jeebus...everyone and their sister seems to be on Facebook.

It's like a...hmmm, what would you call it...like a cancer on this community we call the Internetz.

I just signed onto the Facebook for the first time a month ago. Was shocked to find a whole bunch of people who knew my work, and even a monthly freelance gig.

More than I ever got from lavishing my pearls on the local swine.

If that's cancer, bring it on.

I connected Jinni and Netflix yesterday and it worked fine. I'm guessing they made some improvements to their functionality.

Still doesn't work for me. I think Jinni may just not be able to handle people that have rated a lot of movies.

Facebook connect doesn't appear to be working for me. I have the feature turned on but anything I have rated since doing so doesn't appear to be showing up on facebook. Anyone have any pointers?

Just to make sure you are looking in the right place: In Facebook, click on "Profile" at the top of the page. Then click on "Just (your name)" right under the box labeled "Write Something..." Under that will appear your recent activity which should include movies you have rated since linking the accounts.
