I have had some really crappy jobs but I have never felt the need to stab myself to get out of work, then again I can't say I have ever worked for BB either.
I, too, have worked for BB. While the company is one of the stingiest in creation money-wise, those free rentals were wonderful. I enjoyed my years there.
I've asked people questions like... Why put a steel post in your tongue? Why wear fishhooks in your eyebrows? You moved to Cleveland... on purpose?
Maybe he's just started a whole new social/fashion trend where you collect scars to mark the number of times you didn't like your job. I mean the alternative of quitting must not have seemed like it was enough of a statement.
I'd stab myself if I had to go to BB as a customer. All the new releases are rented out (or even worse, they're NOT) which leaves direct-to-DVD crap like "American Pie 9" or older titles that may have been mainstream, but were never that good to begin with. It's like all the wonderful, exceptional older movies wore out and nobody bothered to replace them. Of course that's a little exaggerated, but after having access to 100K titles at NF, I'm spoiled. I've just walked out of BB empty handed too many times to have a desire to go back.
And for fun, here's a mug shot of Stabby McStabberton on The Smoking Gun.
