I used to get 4 dots on my Roku box. Now I only get 1 or 2 dots.
I have 40" screen. The movie looks just like Youtube video enlarge it 100 times. Can even barely see the face.
I have Comcast as a cable provider and got pretty good connection on the wireless to the box. Does anybody have the same problem? I'm thinking of putting the box on Ebay to get rid of it. Cause it's just not worth it eventhough the service comes with subscription.

This should only be happening with some of the new Starz movies added to instant watch ... everything else should be working fine ... I have some Starz movies that I have tried with my Roku and thought I was starting to have a problem also .. But found out that they are working on the problem with the new Starz movies . I would only get one or two dots with Comcast Broadband also .. This should not be happening with everything you watch ... if it is .. then it is a problem with your connection or maybe even a bad roku box but i doubt it.

Mine is always 4-dots no matter what the sourcing BUT I do use the over-ride code to force the 4-dot stream. I think Uncle Bob started the thread that had this work around: My device is on a flat screen in it's 20s though. Great picture and stream (no re-buffering). As long as the library continues to grow, my Roku is great for adding yet another option for entertainment.

Using your Roku remote on the queue lineup, just depress (with half second pause between)
Home button (5) times
Rewind button (3) times [<<< rewind]
Fast Forward button (2) times [>>> fast forward]

You'll pop into the Stream Setting....... Pick the 2.2Mbps (that's the 4-dots); this setting will stay until
the Roku device is rebooted forced, powered or accident. In that case, just do the above over again.
It's worked great for me ever since I learned about it. I do watch most of my stuff at the red eye hours
which may help me a little with low server demands but it's a sweet little trick.

Ok this gonna sound very stupid. Please be patient with me.
I follow your instruction but nothing came up on my screen.
I'm not sure if I was at the right screen when I press home button.
it's where my movie queue are right?
When I press rewind it just move to a different movie
same as when I press forwarding.
when done nothing pop up on screen that's why I wasn't sure if I was
at the right screen.

I got it.
Have to play around with it for awhile to get to the screen menu.
I'm not getting 4 dots instead of 2.
I never use to get less than 4 before Starz though.
I was wondering if they're testing HD signal.
I might have to do the hardwire connection once they start doing HD otherwise the box will have to keep
buffering the whole time.
Thanks for the tip.
