I joined Netflix when it first became popular years ago and I was very happy with the service. Now every time there is a new movie I want to see I am forced to wait a very long time for it to be shipped. I understand that because it is a new release the demand is high but when I go to my local Blockbuster they have it in-stock almost every time with plenty of extras to spare. Your search engine is terrible; when ever I click on new releases I get a very short list of movies that have already been out for weeks and longer; when I first joined Netflix your search engine was far superior than it is today. When I visit my local Blockbuster I see all kinds of new releases on their shelves that never show up on your site when I click new releases. I find myself bringing a pad and pen when I visit Blockbuster to right down names of movies I’m interested in so I can find them on your site which totally defeats the purpose of not needing to go to the video store in the first place. Your service is starting to not be worth it; I think I might switch to Blockbuster online and recommend to everyone I come across to do the same if your service does not improve soon.
Well, you're just talking to fellow Netflix users here. We're not the Company, we're the community. You are welcome to come here to rant . . . but rants belong over in the Complaints, Gripes and Unfocused Rage discussion.
However if you go to your Netflix home page - click on new releases tab - scroll down to new releases in the last three months and use the little arrow to change the last three month to this week you will get all 50 plus movies that were released today.
Not exactly a great week for new releases - but that's just my taste in DVD's.
New releases DO take longer to get. The 'new releases' page you're talking about IS far less useful than the old default 'new releases' page (they've intentionally removed movies that aren't likely to be available soon or that you aren't likely to enjoy -- good idea, maybe, but it sure leaves you wondering if they even HAVE any new releases). In another reply there's a link for a better place to look for new releases on NF.
The best way you've found to find other new releases is by actually going TO the local BB and writing down what they have in stock? Aren't you sitting in front of a computer with Internet access? Try a web search for "MOVIES, NEW RELEASES." There are hundreds, if not thousands, of sites dedicated to movies. Unless it's just that you're ALREADY at BB looking for a new-ish movie to rent right away (God, I can't even REMEMBER the last time I was in a video store ...)

Exactly, I use videoeta.com to find out when new releases come out. They can even tell you almost the exact release DVD dates for movies in theaters now. It's a pretty good site that lists lots of releases each week, from big blockbusters to just about everything in between.
I want all the new tapes too! From now on I'm going to Blockbuster for my tapes. They got all the new ones with plenty to spare. Their only $5 for a new tape over they're too. I'm telling my friend (my mom) to go too - they got a big search engine right when you walk in.

"Plenty of extras to spare"!!! YAY!! Great business model.
In completely unrelated news, BBI stock closed at 61 cents, down more than 10% from as early as July 2 (source: GoogleFinance) and just a smidgeon off from their 52 week high of $3.19!
Me thinks the BB management team has been watching the South Park Underpants Gnomes episode a tad too much:
1) Acquire new releases "with plenty of extras to spare"!
2) ???
3) PROFIT!!
Well, their foolishness works in favor of their customers: At least you CAN get new releases (at least, as long as they manage to keep their doors open).
Every week, I go to the link in Spindaddydad's post, put the new releases I want at the top of my queue, and get as many of them as DVDs I've mailed back. It ain't that difficult.
