I confirmed with a NF CSR this morning that this currently still-active Request Link was removed from the NF website. He was as surprised as I was and did not know if they would replace it in the future. He did offer to take any film requests I had. The toll-free Customer Service # is 1-866-716-0414.
Why would NF want to make it more difficult to request films?
I noticed that the link was removed when they removed/relocated the Friends & Community tab. I'd love to hear Adrian or Evil H weigh in on this. I noticed they still have the links for people to submit their own films to Netflix.
I wonder if it was just overlooked? I think they originally overlooked the "Movie Privacy" link because it too wasn't there immediately after moving the Friend tabs, but then it showed up a few days later.
Another reason may be that it never really seemed to work anyway.
the Netflix Content team already does everything they can to locate and purchase titles Netflix doesn't already carry, so only a small number of the entries posted via the Title Suggestions link were useful, compared to a much larger number of unactionable items. The Content Team will no longer be supporting title suggestions, please be assured that Netflix does everything we can to acquire all available titles
That is an absurd statement. To presume that you already know everything worth knowing and that our input is a waste of time is very unlike the customer service Netflix patrons have known. Your comment is far from assuring.

I think you missed this part of Evil's response:

I understand this to be that there are tons of suggestions that there is nothing Netflix can do anything about. People requesting movies that are not released in the US or on DVDs come to mind.
I don't see it as Evil claiming that Netflix already knows all that is worth knowing. It's just that the signal to noise ratio is quite askew therefore it is to Netflix's best interest to remove the link.

That's what any reasonable person would see, but when the mob gets angry their reason is the first thing they sacrifice.
