A Netflix Community

Ok so i have noticed over the last three weeks this has been occuring. Ill have my top ten movies in my queue ready to go. The first two(no matter if its a new release or NOT) goes to either short wait or long wait. So i move them down the list and pick two other movies i want to be shipped next. Both movies wont have a waiting period. Within a day or two both of those movies i just added to my top all of a sudden have long wait or short wait.

Its starting to drive me nuts. Im always having to move my movies around lol. Is there a netflix ghost being mean to me with my queue or something lol. Is this happeneing to anyone else?

I don't have any waits but I do know that when a movie is not available at your local distribution center, they will skip down your queue until they find one that is. Also keep in mind that the status indicator in your queue is not in real-time, it is only an approximation that could be off by as much as several hours. Therefore, your queue could show long wait, the disc could suddenly become available in your DC, yet your queue never showed that it was available.

The best thing to do is to only put movies you want to see in your queue.

Perhaps your taste in movies is so awesome that everyone copies your queue?

Hopefully this is just a quirk or bug, but you really shouldn't let it get to you. Just put the movies you want to see most at the top of the list and out of all the discs they have available Netflix will ship you the one you most want to see.

Why are you moving the movies around just because they are in long wait? Just leave them at the top of the queue and when/if they're available Netflix will send them and if not, the next available one will ship.

I know just what ya talking about. This sot of thing has been happening to me lately and yes it does tend to drive on nuts I just don't get it. Plus I am getting more and more movies sent from other locations rather then my local shipping center. So I wonder what the heck is going on.

It happened again today. I saw a movie was finally in the avaliable status. It was like like for about four days when i noticed. so I put it at the number one spot. Within a day of being at the number one spot it is saying very long wait again.

horrorfan, the wait status is just an approximation. It was telling you that at the current position in your queue (not at the top) there is no wait because it estimates that by the time it gets to the top, it'll be available. But when you moved it to the top, it knows that it is not avialable now.

Can you tell us the name of the title, your turnover rate, and which DC sends you your discs?

plain truth is the movie. i usually get 3 dvds a week. Im on the three at a time plan. Sometimes if i watch them quicker and mail them off withint two days i get six dvds a week. The DC that sends my movies is Baton Rouge Louisiana.

I added it to my queue and even at #464 it was Very Long Wait. This title is no longer being distributed so my guess is that Netflix has relatively few left and that demand is going to fluctuate wildly. There may only be one or two copies in Baton Rouge and if you had actually returned a disc when it said Now you would have received it, but someone else beat you to it.

If you really want to see this title you should leave it at the top of your queue and hope to get lucky. The number of copies may dwindle in the near future to the point where it gets moved to your Saved list.

Which DC? Do you turn over you discs more than once a week?
