I've been wondering if Red was any good. I might have to check it out.
I think you'll like it. When I read the synopsis I was sure it was going to be either overly sappy or over the top vigilante-style, but it was neither. It was a very sensitive drama (with a little revenge too) made all the better by Brian Cox. Even Tom Sizemore did a good job.
Of what I've seen recently, I can recommend two:

(1) Shadow Company=Many people have heard of Blackwater and of the private security forces in Iraq that are often called mercenaries or private armies for hire. This documentary interviews them and also one person who runs a company that supplies these soldiers for hire. Not what you'd expect in many ways. These people make very high salaries but seem like fairly ordinary people during the interviews. Also, almost none of them have anything good to say about Bush, 4 1/2 stars.

(2) A Player to be Named Later=For baseball fans, and maybe some non fans, this doc takes a behind- the- scenes look at life in the Triple A minors and the players who dream of a shot at the big leagues. The pay is low, the schedule often brutal and the players face the same challenges off the field as the rest of us(how to pay the mortgage or rent etc). The love of baseball and the dream of being called up to the majors keeps them going. 3 1/2 stars.

Next up: The Andromeda Strain=a classic sci-fi film from the 70s; 30 Rock: Season 1: Disc 1; Up the Yangtze; and Constantine's Sword. The last two are documentaries.
I just saw the pilot and first episode of "The Streets of San Francisco". Pure nostalgia from my childhood... I love it!
Indian Jones and the Most Boring Pointless Sequel Ever

Even Harrison Ford looked bored. I can't add anything to the over 1800 reviews, most of which say this movie sucks.

OTOH:

WALL.E

I think it's on long wait. Go find it at a brick and mortar and see it right away.
High Tension - 1 star - Netflix predicted I'd give this a 4.8 rating so I rented it. I hated beginning to end.
Elvira's Movie Macabre - The House That Screamed on Hulu.com - I liked this old spooky show and Elvira is always fun.
White Dog - 3 1/2 stars - Great story.
Rise of the Footsoldier - 3 1/2 stars - True story of an English ganster's rise to power.
I've been MIA for the last couple of days so here's a bunch i've watched i'm just going to give them a star rating because to type out what i thought of them would take too long, so here they are:
Timber Falls 4 stars
One Dark Knight 3 stars
Blade Runner 3 1/2 stars
Patton 4 stars
The Sentinel (1977) 4 1/2 stars
The Entity 4 1/2 stars
Donnie Darko 4 1/2 stars
Marathon Man 3 stars
I had The Sentinel and The Entity on my q once upon a time. I'll have to check those out.
Is that The Entity with Barbara Hershey? If so, that movie rules.
Yep, Barbara in all her glory, great movie IMO.
I just finished Dr.No
4 stars
