#4988.
I watched Good Luck Chuck, which my wife got in her queue. Thanks heavens for nudity, I'd have never made it thru this stinker otherwise.

It is interesting that according to Netflix, this movie is not for kids "99" or under. What a fabulous typo -- they said a mouthful there.
My boss calls that the worst movie ever - and she's real tolerant of some stinkers.
I'm ashamed I watched that one too... I couldn't believe how bad it was!
Ugh! I saw that as well and agree that it was terrible.
I also admit to seeing Good Luck Chuck coz I liked Jessica Alba but I agree that its a lame movie.

I watched Appaloosa last night, too, Brier! We were having a little party and we didn't even know it.

And PB is back! Yay! Of course you were missed. And now let me disagree with you about Zellweger (ha).

I thought her character was sort of interesting -- without getting into too many spoilers, I liked the scene when she admits her fears, which seemed very realistic to me. A widow, alone in the world, in a time when it was very hard for a woman to support herself and any woman who didn't belong to a father or a husband or some other kind of familial group was considered suspect. POSSIBLE SPOILER***I think she was written to be sort of crazy-desperate with good reason.

But I was sort of distracted by the way she looked a few times -- when did Zellweger turn into Geraldine Page?

Has either of you read the Robert B. Parker novel that was adapted into this movie? Apparently there are sequels to this story.
I just re-read my post. I sort of like saying "sort of." Sheesh.

I still haven't seen Miss Potter -- I get nervous about bio-pics. But I like Beatrix P. and on your say-so it's queued, PB.
just watched this recently as well. it got 3 stars from me, but i did love viggo mortensen in it. something tells me he wanted to be a cowboy when he grew up.

i, too, was put off by zellweger. it wasn't the character, or her acting, but as beeswax put it, her appearance.

*spoilers* her character was a great opposite to the honorable everett. the whole movie she is stereotyped by the viewer and her fellow characters, but there is more to her than you think. the scene where harris believes mortensen over her was great.

and i loved harris' dependence on mortensen. hmmm...re-thinking my 3-star rating...
Finished up watching The Tudors: Season 2. I thought it was far to superior to Season 1, which I already had an affinity for. The final three episodes were particularly interesting.
Is it good? I'm looking for a new TV show...
Very good, but going in expect it to be historically...umm...loose. Season 1 is especially inaccurate, but Season 2 is a bit more defined in the time line so the margin for error is a bit tighter. You be in good shape checking out most if not all the shows currently on Showtime.

Dexter
Weeds
Californication

Those are my personal favorites (which suggests something strange about tastes perhaps), but they have a couple more that might be worth looking into.
Thanks PH, I just added the Tudors to my queue. I've already watched all the shows you mentioned and that's why I was looking for a new one.
Weeds= BEST SHOW EVER! :-)
