What's the closest similarity percentage you've found?

At one point, I found someone who was 81% similar to me. Naturally, the numbers are always changing. What's the closest you've found?

Anyways, the highest sim% to me is 87% and then I met the guy on here and chat all the time. How cool is that?

It's weird because looking through her ( I assume it's a her because of the avatar) queue, there's so much in her queue that I wouldn't even consider watching even if it was on broadcast tv. Perhaps the sheer volume of her rated movies and the meager ones I have coincide enough to rate the similarity quite high.; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by e manderthal on November 15, 2008 at 3:32pm: From what I've come to understand, the similarity for strangers is based not on movies rated or reviews, but specifically on how you've rated your Genres, in addition to what disks you've queued and shipped.

More often than not, someone with a 40% - 50% similarity will have much more in common with me than those who happen to have a high "similarity".

In many cases, their lists and their 5-star ratings will show me whether or not a profile has any specific interest for me.; ▶ Reply to This

I suppose it's because I've rated a couple of thousand movies vs. her hundreds. So there's a good chance that anything she's rated I've also rated and we seem to have somewhat similar tastes (we're usually within one star of each other. Usually).; ▶ Reply to This
