*** NOTHING BUT SPOILERS ****

This one is isn't working for me.

1. Despite what the First Gentleman said, the framing worked even better than expected. He would have had 2 dead bodies to explain, and they already think he's off his rocker.

2. Colonel Dubaku turns into Colonel Scaredy-Poo at the mere presence of Jack Bauer and cancels his act of terror and runs like hell. Yeah, right.

3. Introducing a character and having him sacrifice himself in the same episode is not very effective, especially this early in the season. Give us a whole season with the character so we can actually care. I think his dialogue delivery was a little flat, too.

On the plus side:

Renee is becoming quite the action heroine, it looked like Jack was letting her go on ahead of him looking for Dubaku's guards. Larry revealed some new information, not only does he have feelings for Renee, he has a history with Renee.

For now, I am withholding judgment on Colonel Dubaku's girlfriend who works at the diner.

I was thinking about that too. That Vossler should just leave the First Gentleman there because it would look really bad for him.

Loved seeing Bill in action!

The season as a whole isn’t working too well for me. It’s still more of the same. Same plot except it’s the FBI instead of CTU and Jack’s officially on the outside instead of working on the outskirts of the inside. It even seems like Sean at the FBI was modeled after Edgar.

How much can it even mean that Dubaku has the First Gentleman? He can’t cause anywhere near as much trouble as he could have with the device and if it comes down to it the President has to choose her country over her husband.

I agree, moviemeh, about Dubaku turning into a wimp at the sight of Jack & Tony. That was a stretch.

I did like seeing Janis take charge when she was dealing with the plant in Ohio.

Anyone think Tony’s teetering on the edge of going back to the bad side?

I got that impression a little bit, too.

I finally got to watching the episode and finished it just now. I'm not sure what to say about what happened in this hour, but I'm waiting to see what happens soon.
