The Creepy List (short version)

Next Door

When a simple elevator ride becomes a seductive invitation for John (Kristoffer Joner) to call on his sexy neighbors Anne (Cecilie Mosli) and Kim (Julia Schacht), a brutal secret soaked in blood emerges from his psyche. With chilling eroticism and suspenseful sensuality, director Pal Sletaune's creepy psychological thriller slowly unravels John's trial of terror and untapped desire when he's suddenly trapped -- next door.

Peeping Tom

A disturbed filmmaker (Carl Boehm) literally kills with his camera in this ahead-of-its-time shocker from revered British director Michael Powell. Like the same year's Psycho, this film's combination of voyeurism, eroticism and horror repelled some 1960 critics, but its cult reputation soared in later years. Moira Shearer (star of Powell's The Red Shoes) makes an appearance, as does Powell himself (as Boehm's father in flashback).

The Killing Kind

When Terry (John Savage) returns home from prison -- where he was incarcerated after friends forced him to take part in a gang-rape -- he moves into his mother's (Ann Sothern) boarding home. Soon he's peeping on a pretty tenant (Cindy Williams), and his enemies start dying horrific deaths. Meanwhile, a creepy neighbor (Luana Anders) has an unhealthy fascination with Terry in this classic spine-chiller directed by horror maestro Curtis Harrington.

Nightmare Detective

A female detective (Hitomi) investigates a mysterious pair of suicides in this Japanese supernatural thriller. When it's revealed that both victims died after dialing zero on their mobile phones, the detective discovers a suspect who harbors the power to enter people's dreams. Can she stop him before she becomes a victim of her own nightmares? Shinya Tsukamoto directs this stylish tale of terror. Ryuhei Matsuda co-stars.

Benny's Video

Fourteen-year-old Benny (Arno Frisch) is a video freak whose life consists only of school, videotaping what he sees outside his window and spending hours watching violent action films. Benny becomes obsessed with amateur footage of a pig being slaughtered, and soon, his passion for videotaped death leads him to commit a heinous act of his own. Austrian director Michael Haneke helms this postmodern exploration of emotional disconnection.

Bug

Based on a play by Tracy Letts, this claustrophobic thriller from Exorcist director William Friedkin focuses on the love story between a man (Michael Shannon) and a woman (Ashley Judd) convinced that the government is implanting insects in its citizens. Harry Connick Jr. plays the woman's abusive ex-husband in this nightmare tale of paranoia that takes place in an America where no one -- least of all the authorities -- can be trusted.

Cache

Winner of the Cannes Best Director Award, Michael Haneke's psychological thriller centers on wealthy French couple Georges (Daniel Auteuil) and Anne (Juliette Binoche), who begin receiving threatening videotapes and phone calls that threaten to ruin their relationship. Georges realizes who the perpetrator is but refuses to tell Anne. Yet childhood flashbacks reveal the mystery, a story that illuminates France's damaged relations with Algeria.

Cruising

After a serial killer brutally murders several gay men in New York's S&M and leather districts, cop Steve Burns (Al Pacino) goes undercover on the streets, where he must learn the complex rules of the underground gay subculture if he's to catch the psycho. Karen Allen co-stars as Burns's girlfriend in this gritty 1980 thriller, which sparked protests from gay rights groups at the time of its release but has since developed a minor cult status.

The Girl Next Door

Inspired by true events, this thriller set in 1958 follows the harrowing story of two adolescent girls (Blythe Auffarth, Madeline Taylor), who upon losing their parents in an accident are sent to live with their Aunt Ruth (Blanche Baker), a sadistic psychopath. Unbeknownst to the residents of the small New Jersey suburb, the girls endure unthinkable punishment at the hands of their aunt and three cousins.

The Lost

Four years after 19-year-old Ray Pye (Marc Senter) murdered two women, Detective Charlie Schilling (Michael Bowen) and his ex-partner, Ed (Ed Lauter) -- who are convinced Ray is the killer -- decide to turn up the heat before the psychopath strikes again. But they'd better move fast. Ray's volatile relationship with bad girl Katherine (Robin Sydney) is about to explode, and the killer's also got his eye on Ed's girlfriend, Sally (Megan Henning).

Pieces

A psychotic serial killer armed with a chainsaw terrorizes a college campus, collecting body parts from each of his victims to create a human jigsaw puzzle. Detective Bracken (Christopher George) and partner Mary Riggs (Lynda Day George) work with student Kendall (Ian Sera) to identify the killer. The long list of suspects includes a creepy dean (Edmund Purdom), an anatomy professor (Jack Taylor) and a maintenance man (Paul L. Smith).

Masters of Horror: Takashi Miike: Imprint

Called "one of the most unsettling horror directors alive" by the New York Daily News, Takashi Miike lives up to that reputation with this disturbing shocker. An American journalist (Billy Drago) is searching for a prostitute in 19th-century Japan; what he finds instead is a deformed courtesan with a tale of unspeakable cruelty. Based on a Japanese horror novel, this presentation is the first uncensored version to be available in America.

Ichi the Killer

Filmmaker Takashi Miike takes inspiration from Hideo Yamamoto's manga, Koroshiya 1, to tell this bloody and bleak tale about the Japanese yakuza. Blond-coiffed Kakihara's "mentor in crime" disappears, and Kakihara vows to find out who's responsible. He's also on the lookout for Ichi, a sadistic killer who may be able to inflict the level of pain Kakihara so badly craves.

Ichi the Killer: Episode Zero

Catch the episode that started it all -- the bitter infighting among Japan's dreaded and dangerous Yakuza, that is -- in this anime adventure. It seems mob boss Anjo has spirited away 100 million yen, a sum of money so monstrous that it sets off a gory crime spree led by his second-in-command, Kakihara. But when Ichi -- a madman fueled by a lust for chaos that stems from a wretched childhood -- joins in the mayhem, things turn ugly indeed.

Oldboy

With no clue how he came to be imprisoned, drugged and tortured for 15 years -- and no one to hold accountable for his suffering -- a desperate businessman seeks revenge on his captors, relying on assistance from a friendly waitress. Korean director Chan Wook Park -- a former philosophy student and Hitchcock devotee -- uses his influences to create a mesmerizing psychological drama with a resolution that will leave you speechless.

Audition

Director Takashi Miike fashions an explosive drama in Audition. Shigeharu Aoyama (Ryo Ishibashi) has lived as a widower for too long and decides it's time to marry again. But how will he find a wife? When a friend suggests he hold a fake audition to pick the right woman, he takes him up on it -- only to realize that his choice may be a better actress than he bargained for.

Visitor Q

Visitor Q is a disturbing and taboo-bashing experimental work from acclaimed director Takashi Miike (Dead or Alive). The film presents a harrowing, absurdist take on the phenomenon of reality TV, depicting the chilling disintegration of a family. Starring Kenichi Endo, Visitor Q seals Miike's reputation as one of the world's most daring and dangerous cinematic visionaries.

Man Bites Dog

A satirical look at how the media affects and promotes violence in modern society. Spoofing reality television, a fascinated documentary crew follows a charismatic yet unrepentant serial killer on his murder sprees. The crew attempts to objectively document the horror, but as the violence escalates, they ultimately get sucked into participating. Man Bites Dog won the International Critics' Prize at the 1992 Cannes Film Festival.

Fight for Your Life

When three escaped prisoners (led by William Sanderson of television's "Newhart" and "Deadwood") break into the home of a middle-class black minister (Robert Judd), he must fight to protect his family from physical and psychological abuse. Originally produced in 1977, this classic example of exploitation cinema was heavily censored in the United States and completely banned in England due to its graphic scenes of rape and torture.

Vital

Director Shinya Tsukamoto's emotionally resonant drama stars Tadanobu Asano as amnesiac Hiroshi Takagi, whose memory was lost after being in an auto accident that claimed the life of his girlfriend (Nami Tsukamoto). The discovery of an anatomy book in his closet soon reawakens Hiroshi's interest in medicine and sends him back to school. When the cadaver on a class dissection table affords a link to Hiroshi's past, will he regain his memory?

I have to say Pieces is my favorite from this list, but I really wanna see The Girl Next Door and I hope it's on Netflix. Can I add a recommendation and maybe start a discussion on Dark Floors? It was so awesome I watched it two nights in a row. Also I recommend R Point.

I love Chiller, but I don't understand why they have to edit, it's a HORROR channel for pete's sake. You should expect gore, and swearing.

Chiller tv is awesom! I wish it was a channel that would play there movies unedited. But they do have some pretty good tv shows like...The Hitchcock Hour,Tales From the Darkside,Night Gallery. They should have more channels like Chiller.

I have Direct TV, and in my package is a channel called Chiller. It plays the best cheesy movies and some really scary ones too.

They also play regularly Freddy's Nightmares, Friday the 13th tv series, Tales From The Crypt, and Twin Peaks along with many other series and movies.
