Two Oscar winners star in this dark comedy by Joel Schumacher. It's a hot summer day in L.A., and Bill Foster (Michael Douglas) is having a very bad day. He's just been fired from his defense-industry job and a traffic jam is making him late to his daughter's birthday party. With his temper fraying, Foster begins walking and runs into one obstacle after another, including an overzealous cop (Robert Duvall) who's determined to bring Foster down.

Seems like I've seen most of the Club picks on my own recently. I watched this about three weeks ago and it remains one of my favorite movies to view over and over. Michael Douglas is fantastic and I really love Schumacher direction. I think we all can relate to Douglas' character in some way, especially in this society with our economy being so bad. This is a really enjoyable pick! :)

I added this one to my DVD queue so I can see it in widescreen. Will post my thoughts after I have seen it though it might be a few weeks before I get to it since I have a handful of titles I've queued up that I've really wanted to see for a long time.

I saw this in the theater in '93. Had to watch it again to remember most of it.

Douglas does a fantastic job portraying a person with mental health issues in a world that is very relevant today, even though the movie is 15+ years old. Duvall's role, even though he gets second billing, is more like a bit part - his character has nothing to do, mostly because no one will listen to him, until nearly the end of the movie. The storyline could be taken out of today's headlines; though it is a good movie, I just can't say I enjoyed watching Bill Foster's diminishing ability to distinguish between right and wrong, leading to the inevitable end. Not a movie I plan to watch again, but worth watching if you haven't seen it.

Great movie!!!! Haven't seen it in awhile so I may watch it again and add more comments. Great look at what a few disruptions in your life added up over a small amount of time will do to your psyche.

Just finished watching the film. Excellent movie and greatly enjoyed the acting by Michael Douglas as the bad guy. Robert Duvall's wife as a psychotic woman was pretty funny to watch. 4*
