This thread will be for instant watch titles that are unexpectedly removed. For example no expiration was ever provided prior to the selection being removed. I'll start with the ones that this has happened to in my list. Any title that is added back to instant watch can be removed.
I'm certain just this last week (near end of jan 2009) or a little more all three of the lord of the rings extended edition titles were indicated as new to watch instantly on netflix's new to IW RSS feed. So I'm baffled as to why they are not.
It's possible but seeing as it was suddenly without notice removed I suspected it more likely to be something else. I still don't know why the others have not returned. They were suddenly without notice removed months ago for most of them. In a way it rather bothers me that they offer no communication at all to customers as to what is going on. I would think if they take them down for say to repair the file because of a technical issue like bad audio sync or one of the several other problems reported in the problems with IW titles thread we have going, that they would put in the note column something like will return the title after repairs are made to the file or something to let customers know what is going on. To me it is poor customer service to have things just suddenly happen with no explanation. It's like my favorite mexican restaurant that was very popular in my area. I went there one day and the next day they were permanently closed and no explanation at all as to why. That is sort of how I feel about some things that happen with netflix.
If you hyperlink the titles in the list above, then it can be checked easier if they've been added again or not. How about a Netflix list of these titles, then you can see at a glance what's with each title.
I have them all sitting in my IW queue. But I'll link them for others. I figured the list was small right now so I guess I didn't really think about it.
Secret Rivals 2: Revenge of the Gold Fox (1977) has returned from its sudden vacation :) hopefully this is a good sign. I sort of wish I knew details.
