Rated both 2 stars... Frontiers is a cheap horror film that is like any other demented psycho family movie. Tokyo Gore Police is a movie filled with gore & gallons of blood... and nothing else.
I would, but I don't want it to seem like I'm spamming, since I've already started the topic on the subject.
I am going to update the thread at least once a week with new additions to the database, as well as any other times I need to respond to additions people have for the service.
These titles have been in my disc Queue since the day they came out. Thankfully they finally got released on streaming... or rather, un-thankfully because I sat through them.
I just don't think anyone in the world could watch these depressing films more than once. Films like these try to extend their length for no other reason than to slap that on the box. I get bored to tears when a movie runs as long as both of these do (Or even when they feel like they're running long).
Run time is not the only problem with both, of course, but also the fact that they are just dumb all around. You've literally seen everything here depicted in other films already (And in every case, the film you saw did it better)... I can guarantee that.
There's no relevance to the fact that they're both ostensibly movies about drugs... though I did just finish watching the excellent Season 4 of Weeds on Blu-ray. Mainly I saw them so I could get them the frick out of my Queue already :) I'm tired of seeing them there... now there's room for much more interesting titles than them both. And it's time to take a very long break from any movie w/ Seth Rogen as star.
Boiler Room (July 17th). It won't be on Watch Instantly (This time around) much longer, but it's a good film. The premise will leave you snoring (If you read it off of Netflix)... but I was very much into it, and found myself wondering who would get in the most trouble by the end of the movie.
The ending, I feel like, came a bit too soon, as some things should have been shown that weren't. The big payoff wasn't so much there when it was over... other than that, I have no complaints for Boiler Room. Great cast... I really like Nia Long... she doesn't get to do many movies that aren't geared toward the mentally handicapped.
I watched boiler room a few nights ago. What a movie! I had it sitting in my queue for a while, & after reading your opinion on it, I decided to watch it.
Indeed. How did you feel about the ending? While good, I wanted to see the... um
place get raided
and everyone get taken down at least.
Other than that, the cast was amazing. I was surprised by most of the actors in Boiler Room. It was also one that had been in my queue for years :D I added it because I think Ribisi is a great actor, and because I'd heard the title mentioned several times as one to see.
That wasn't what the ending was about, it was about the son who was allowed scott free to watch as the others get their punishment. That's for us to imagine what happens to them. No?
Over all, an interesting, engaging and exciting film.
