I've just read that Eviltimes has been getting thousands of not helpful votes lately. Mine has been hit with over 2,000 not helpful clicks that increases one per day per review. I know that dinging an account with not helpful is not new, but to organize attacks to such extent?!
Is this happening to anyone else? If so, this is the thread to get some tips on what to do. Feel free to share some tips too.
The way I see it one can either:
1.) Continue reviewing (they want to punish you and by stopping they will get a "victory)
2.) stop reviewing
3.) go private
4.) ????? Feel free to make suggestions
jcranma- my advice is not to stop reviewing. what does it matter at the end of the day?
eviltimes- If you're larry md, you can congratulate yourself for stopping one reviewer from posting any reviews after hitting them everyday for 15 days. really a pathetic attempt to continue your ranking and get your reviews to the top 3 and your reviews are plagerized from imdb or other netflix reviewers. the only real thoughts you articulate well is derogatory to females or incomplete sentences. if people are forming a group to call you on your crap you deserve it. also, you have reviews that are duplicated from previous reviews. if you're not larry md, then good luck with your stinking rank.
cheating the system- where the hell are the rules and guidelines? i've never seen them. if people have found a way to help themselves in the rank then that is on nf not those trying to help one another. every system has flaws and the way the system is set up needs to change. really all i see here are bunch of cry babies who complaine and don't do anything productive.
the cheater group- as a member, i just saw everybody as a bunch of incompetent members who we're jealous because their reviews weren't seen, targeting potential threats to your rank. i joined simply because i was sick of seeing the same reviewers over and over in the top 3. i just skip over their reviews and read others. simple as that.
The one that I think you are referring to, I felt justified in doing as it was not going anywhere. This one's open for everyone to post all their "stuff" that they wish to do so. Also, soon I hope, will be the next update of the top 25....
Actually the whole thing is more like an interesting Soap Opera - Desperate Housewives Reviewer Rankings complete with a fascinating cast of characters, set in that virtual town of Netflix.com Friends & Community, added and abetted by the Netflix Fans Community. I tune in frequently to catch the latest chapter of the goings-on.
I'm real vulnerable to all the shenanigans since all I do is write reviews (been cranking them out since Year 2000) - Lists just aren't my thing. But I really don't care what my RR # is - I mean I went 8 years without even knowing there was such a thing, and I've given up trying to figure out if there's any semblance of logic in its calculation....
