I think one of the most recent films that have impacted me personally is District 9. I never made it to the theater for this one but just received the DVD for my birthday. Who would have thunk it? A serious science-fiction film that is also action, family values, and a devastating examination of racism! I'll be teaching this one in college some day.

I would love to see a good, inspirational, unforgettable, clean movie. Any suggestions? :-)

Just watched "The Edge of Heaven" - a low-key and intensely personal movie that provides a variety of perspectives, irony, and drama - much to think about.

"The Power of One" (Morgan Freeman and Stephen Dorf) - amazing film... American History X (Edward Norton) sticks with you... "THe Notebook" (one of the best love movies out)... "The Sixth Sense" and "Sign" (M. Night KNOWS what he's doing... hope he pulls out of his rut)... "Empire Strikes Back" ("Luke... I'm your father...")...
those are a few off the top of my head.

"Amazing Grace"

Hello, Everyone!

I've been away too long (not by choice :-(), and will have to be away again soon. I've missed all of the great dialogue.

I'm a bit behind in viewing films, too, but I did see "Amazing Grace" recently; in fact, bought the film. It was heart-wrenching and exceedingly inspirational. I would love to see more films with inspirational content.

Keep watching those FABulous FILMS! :-)

Madame X from 1966? That was a great film. That one lingers.

Are there any members "mature" (sounds much better than OLD :-) enough to remember the classic "Madame X"?

I enjoyed BOTH versions (older and newer). What a lesson that film afforded, when we endeavor to judge, what a catastrophe we can create in lives.
