Imagine Me & You - Well it was the first happy lesbian movie I saw. Plus Anthony Stewart Head (aka Giles) is in it as the dad... and I like thinking of him as an awesome dad.
D.E.B.S. - Much less serious than most lesbian films. And the two girls are gorgeous.
Loving Annabelle - I liked the dynamic of the student seducing the teacher. There was a genuine sweetness in how it was done instead of purely sexual.
The worst is any movie where the guy gets the girl. I really don't like that <.<.
Film Grrrl agrees with Mattias on "Imagine." Just a charming RomCom, it is. And Film Grrrl admits having a thing for both Piper Perabo (esp. in the heartbreaking "Lost & Delirious") and Lena Headey (who is so good on "Sarah Conner" as is Summer Glau -- uber Grrrl Power there, baby). And, anything BtVS-related is great. Film Grrrl is a total Buffy fan. DEBS? Hot women, and that a lesbian RomCom gets a G-13 rating says something in itself. Annabelle? Film Grrrl is less of a fan, as the plot is more-than-a-little-difficult to believe. Not the student seducing the teacher -- that she gets. It was all too much of a set up. And the ladies would have been more careful. Still, it tugs at those early lesbian feelings girls have for their young, hot (and likely not entirely str8) teachers. Be sure to keep Film Grrrl after class for some remedial work. Kisses, FG.
I have this thing... it might be coincidence I'm not sure. But after I see an actress play lesbian I never like her next role. I loved Piper and Lena in "Imagine" but can't stand Lena in Sarah Connor. It might just be that her and John are constantly mean to Summer <.<. I also don't care for Alyson Hannigan in How I Met Your Mother but loved her in Buffy.
Isn't Loving Annabelle based on a true story? I know it's based on a book at least. It didn't seem to impossible to me... just way to short.
I really want to see Water Lillies, Fingersmith, and I Can't Think Straight =).
