Jamie - He had a real sense of adventure and was the doctor's buddy, not just along for the ride.
Zoe - Cute and amusing.
Romana I - She was the doctor's equal and usually won their battles of wit.
Tegan - Silly and cried a lot, but I liked her for some reason.
Rose - Another real companion, not just along for the ride.
Martha - Smart, devoted to the doctor, but willing to stand up to him.

My least favorites:
Romana II - Such a disappointment after Romana I.
Peri - The actress was new to acting, and it showed, constantly, for 3 seasons!; ▶ Reply to This

Wasn't there an Adam, too? I think towards the end of the first season of the new series? Well, if I can't remember for sure then he obviously wasn't that memorable as a companion. :); ▶ Reply to This

PS: I choose to ignore last year's Christmas special. In my mind, it never happened. That's the only way I can enjoy this new, less annoying Donna Noble character.; ▶ Reply to This

I have had to resort to PAL vhs lately and I have to agree with Alex. Leela is hot :) Some good choices here..I was never keen on Ace either or Tegan. I liked Jamie and yes Romana I was great.
