I went through our discussion and shamelessly resurrected some of the review topics...they need work...but I'm willing to do more reviewing for the good (or bad) of the cause! I encourage you to step up to the plate and take some time to write reviews of your favorite westerns!

*****Future weeks of Western of the Week??????

It seems the consensus for the next group of western for the western of the week series is westerns with Native Americans featured prominently....any suggestions for specific films....I think we should see how many Instant Watch's we can build into a series of 4-6 films. If there's another idea...float it to the group!

A powerful film -- true, not exactly a standard western, despite its trappings.

Its major flaw is that it genuinely believes in the the ultimate decency of mankind. The book arrives at a darker conclusion.

Henry Fonda's performance is one of his best -- and that's very good, indeed.

I LOVE INSTANT WATCH!

It is really the only reason why in these difficult financial times, that I can justify my Netflix membership.

And I love westerns and so.....

When a great film like The Oxbow Incident is on Instant Watch, it is my solemn duty to pass on the news to all the members of WR!

If you've never seen it, catch it.....its an important film in so many ways.

My only regret is that this may be overhyping the film and leave some disappointed. It is a simple story with a punch to the gut (figuratively).....don't expect lots of action. The Oxbow Incident is about the human condition and our preconceptions and misconceptions and right and wrong (period). A powerful and understated film.

For next week's Western I was thinking (after consulting with some Western Rounduppers--its a word--you can look it up!) of starting to look at films that have a common subject for a few weeks....and what better event to do than the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral! What do you think...e-mail or post to the Western of the Week discussion or the GEM discussion or the comment wall! (I know too many choices!)

Oh, yeah....the event idea came from Kacie (Great idea!)!

Finished watching M7(on Instant Watch--what a great thing....probably my favorite thing about Netflix...currently) last night....I forgot how much fun it was...its not heavy, just all the things we love about western in a nice neat package!
