Small Favor - by Jim Butcher

Harry Dresden returns in this novel where Mab the Winter Queen calls in one of the favors Harry has left. She wants him to discover the whereabouts and bring back mob boss Johnny Marcone. *****5 Stars

Oh, no fair, I was going to suggest Jim Butcher! :P

Okay, well, there's a new Neil Gaiman novel out, that looks good. It's called The Graveyard Book.

I don't read all that much, but when I do it's usually a Star Wars prequel era novel. Once a new one comes out I get addicted and just can't stop reading. A couple of resent ones I liked are from the Darth Bane series, Path of Destruction, and Rule of Two.

I've really been getting into the DeathStalker
series. It's a ton of fun with lots of action,
humor and great world-building ideas all in
one. Check it out if you're out of books to read.

Orson Scott Card - Ender's Game
Ray Bradbury - The Martian Chronicles
William Sleator - Singularity, The House of Stairs, Interstellar Pig
Isaac Asimov - Robot Visions
Patrick O'Leary - Door Number Three

Hope that helps.

I'm in the middle a quite a few series at the moment.

Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series (Wizard's First Rule), fantasy, but I mention it because the TV show will be starting up in a few months.

E.E. Doc Smith's Lensman series which is being made into a TV show or movie next year.

I recommend Tad Williams' Otherland series, set just a few years in the future. Long books, but I enjoyed them a lot.

Various sci-fi other authors I have liked: Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein, Arthur C. Clarke, Orson Scott Card, Jerry Pournelle, Larry Niven, Douglas Adams, Harry Harrison, L. Ron Hubbard.

Most of the other stuff I am reading is fantasy and not coming to film (Terry Brooks, George R.R. Martin, Robert Jordon, and such).

Yeah I need to go back and re-read Goodkind's novels ... Thank the goddess I have them all so that I don't have to go buy them.

I am a big fan of Brooks & Eddings it would be cool to see how they would make a moive/mini-sereis of Shannara ... although I would be afraid they would screw it up like they did Earthsea. It was a good movie, don't get me wrong, but there was so much more in the novel.

I would love some suggestions, on Sci-Fi books. I love reading, but I have a hard time getting into a book. Can't tell you how many books, I have started, and not finished.

Books I have recently read, and finished.

Prey - Michael Crichton
Next - Michael Crichton (wasn't really fond of this one.)
I am Legend - Richard Matheson ( really only half a book )
I, Robot - Isaac Asimov

I read the last four books of the Harry Potter series, mostly because my wife kept telling me how the books, were better than the movies. They were, but I still feel kind of silly, for having read them.

I'm currently reading Hot Zone, by Richard Preston. I'm having a little trouble getting into this one, but I am still pushing forward.

Prey was very good. My favorite Michael Crichton book will still have to be Sphere though.
