Well, I finally saw ZOMBIELAND today. actually spent some dough and went to the theater. Here's my review.
Well, I finally saw "Zombieland", I don't usually make it out to the theaters, (I prefer DVD), but, you can't complain about not getting Big Budget Zombie Movies in theaters if you don't support them, ergo, I found myself at the local multiplex on Halloween weekend in full zombie regalia with the missus and a rather squeamish friend of ours. As a fun, short, thrill ride comedy-horror tale with zombies it was a nice entertaining film, but for the hardcore flesheating undead fan, it will probably leave you wanting a little bit more. Gone is the trademark zombie movie melancholia, and there is zero social relevance that you find in most movies of this type. It's still a great film though, the missus and our rather squeamish friend thought it was fantastic, but I wanted a little bit more. Woody Harrelson was great, Bill Murray has a great cameo, Jesse Eisenberg does his best Michael Cera impression, but the female leads are little more than disposable characters. As a quick disposable zombie comedy it works great, but "Shaun of the Dead", or "Return of the Living Dead" it's not.
Watched "Pontypool" the other day too, really a great li'l movie, not quite zombie, but very zombie movie, trapped, isolated, strange and confusing. great sound design and direction, a little confused about the ending though...
...just logged onto my NF account, all my friends are missing. faves still there, but no friends, weird eh?

Good deal on the Pontypool, Jimmy. I can't wait ta see it.
Netflix must be working on the site because I was missing all my friends and faves, too. They came back, little by little and now I think (the last time I checked) I have all of them back.
I've decided to start a thread for zombie movie reviews. Maybe this one will take off. I keep trying to figure out something to do interesting, to get more people active, and nothing seems to take off. Help me out D, post some reviews and...stuff.
