Share 'HD Streaming Requirements?'

Hello! This may be a dumb question but I'm not sure I tried searching and I don't want to call support yet. What exactly does one need for HD Streaming? I know right now it sounds like it's limited to Devices, I have one. I obviously have a netflix account (which doesn't have a problem with its card anymore :D) Do I also need to pay for HD rentals?
