Hey, just thought I'd you know that some of us are trying to streamline the very basic organization to our groups. I started out making a Sci-Fi Portal but it has turned into so much more.
Comecheck it out.. and if you're interested in being involved just join the network and we'll promote you to admin. :)
Ripley, that is not a bad nickname -I'm honored...
I did see Long Kiss Goodnight and really enjoyed it. I saw it again recently and it's a little dated but still good.
"Mommy, are we going to die?" "No honey, they are".
One of my favorite lines from Grandma's Boy, "I should have worn a condom".
Say, given that Solaris, Nightwatch/Daywatch, Blade, and Pitch Black are some of your favorites... maybe you should join us over at the Sci-Fi Forum. You have some great thoughts to share and I'm sure others would enjoy continuing this topic with you as well (maybe we could copy & paste some of this stuff onto a 'strong female leads' thread? ... I promise we won't take ourselves too seriously.
BTW LOVE Grandma's Boy!
Hey Alan-
I gotta say, I agree with your taste in leading ladies... You named some of the top ones for me.
Geez, they were all giving you a bit of a hard time! You know, I started out watching all the artsy independant films films that were supposed to be good... whatever. Then as I matured, I embraced those qualities that I truely value in films. First and foremost, good storytelling.
Sorry, I just don't like slice of life character driven films. I'd rather watch a documentary about something real and important.
Well, I'm rambling on a bit... point being, I think I have great taste in movies and I am not going to pretend to like films just because they are considered fashionable or deep. Long live the kick-ass diva!
Hey Alan! Glad to see you here on the Netflix community. Would you please join my "Woman" group. We talk about movies with strong female characters. I hope to see you on there.
