Hi, Breath! It's me, back again and somewhat confused. I don't know how to actually invite you to be a friend on Netflix. My email address is pbone@taconic.net. I'm the one who said you might like some eastern european movies; bunched undies is one of my faves and also a friend. I am techno-challenged! (read "rather stupid" - I can't even figure out how to add my picture here...), and therefore got quite confused as to whether I was inviting you to be friend on "movie fans" or actual n/f site. I'm impressed that you run some movie sites. I have a lot of difficulty negotiating sites...especially the social networky things. Anyway, if you email me, I'll answer, invite, and n/f will confirm. Thanks. Susan

Yoo hoo! My favorite reviewer, Bunched Undies, recommended that I check out your reviews on N/F. They are brill! Will you be my friend? We have similar taste in movies, although I have a lot of Eastern Euro's that may so far have escaped your notice...Poland, Croatia (and Bosnia, of course) Hungary, Roumania...it's so interesting to see the sensibility of these film makers since the Iron Curtain fell...not all happy, by any means. Hope you'll be my friend! sp442842 of Millerton, NY.

I have some movie buddies who are film noir fans. It's a popular genre. I haven't seen much Japanese cinema, but I suppose a few would qualify: Raise the Red Lantern, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Joy Luck Club. Am not sure those are all Japanese, though. LOL!

I haven't seen Before Sunset yet, but did watch After Sunrise. Very good. Didn't care for The New World, although I enjoy Colin Farrell. Million Dollar Baby was wonderful. I recently just finished watching Vitus, Lakeview Terrace, Separate Lies, The Florentine, Before the Fall, Sideways . . .

I don't really follow directors; in fact, I'm not very well-versed on directors. I pretty much watch the blockbusters, but particularly enjoy period pieces, Jane Austen and the like. However, I watch almost anything as long as it isn't too dumb, silly, bloody or violent. I say that, but one of my favs is Eastern Promises, so there ya go. How about you? Fav movies?

Just thought I'd stop by and say "hi". Your list of directors is quite impressive! Looks like you sure know your stuff. Do you write a lot of reviews and keep an eye on your Netflix ranking, by any chance?

No -- I'd love to. Your review of it is where I saw that you'd seen his HHH doc. It has played in San Francisco and New York according to IMDb, and has a "limited release" mid-May. I live in L.A., so maybe I'll luck out with that. Foreign distribution frustrates me a lot these days.

Hey! I thought I was the only person who saw Assayas's HHH!
