Exactly. This is just the beginning and I am horrified to see what else is to come out of this. And the fact that Netflix replacing whatever they have with new rental versions is a scary idea too. Of course maybe this is a trend that will fade away…
I got a rental version of a bluray recently from Netflix, can't remember what movie it was though. Wait, I think it was Ice Age. There were menus for subtitles and stuff, but zero extras. Plus, on my PowerDVD (I use my computer to watch blurays) it…

Nah, us DVD viewers are "cheapskates" and don't buy DVDs, just rent them!!!! :-\
I would guess that the two versions look different from each other. Mine was a generic gray-print DVD.
Huh. "Rental version" DVD but no "rental version" BD. What's the reasoning behind that? "BluRay owners don't rent, they buy"?
Even Netflix may not know. And of course they have no way of distinguishing which is whicih so that those who need the subtitles can make that choice.
Well, we know that some of their stock is the regular release version because Beeswax received it. But exactly what percentage, who knows.
