Netflix seems to be making little to no effort to bring their streaming video's to Linux . . . I use Ubuntu. That and their jumping into bed with Windoze on and exclusive deal and I'm just about out of here.

About Me:
61 years old, a devout Christian, (no I don't look down on those who aren't, I don't preach to others, and I don't think abortion and homosexuality are any worse sins than what the Enron executives did in that scam or any worse than my sin of self-pride), Nam Vet, politically independent but generally reactionary, well educated in medicine, philosophy, psychology, business, economics, and religion, opinionated, willing to consider others opinions if of sound reason, impetuous and worked most of my life at the University of Washington Medical Center psychiatric ward.
I have a wonderful kind wife and a great 20 yr old son.
I cry very easily when watching movies especially romantic movies. I value acting and a well written script much more than a lot of special effects. A good example is "Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf," in my opinion one of the greatest films made. On the other hand pictures on a grand scale such as "Doctor Zhivago," are unforgettable. Then there are films like "The Unforgiven" and "Sixth Sense," which are in a class of their own. "Sixth Sense" is the only film that has left me absolutely speechless at the climax at the end when he realizes that he himself is dead and a ghost.
Some movies I can't watch anymore, although I'm awed at how great they are as movies. Jacob's Ladder is a good example. Being a Nam vet I identify way to strongly with the characters and action. Same with Saving Private Ryan. Oddly, Operation Homecoming I can watch, and get tearful many times throughout. Possibly, I can watch this because the particular nightmare's these soldiers are going to have to endure are not similar enough in complexion to the ones I do . . . only because theirs are covered in sand, and the civ's were white robes rather than being covered in mud and the civ's wearing black pajamas's.
I am an ardent computer game player mostly FPS with an almost insatiable appetite for it.
No offense....but you look a little like the former Vice President!
Anyway, you're welcome to join the Roundup, its not a very big commitment and sometimes, there are good suggestions for movies for the cinematically-jaded such as ourselves!
Oh, that was about that LA movie...I think it was called "Dateless in LA"...sorry, I guess I should look it up for you...I said that everything they said was true!!
Hello Doug. Thanks for the note. That buck was taken in November 2007 in Wyoming. What a beautiful trip. I used a rifle to harvest him. Hunting in the eastern part of Wyoming is very open and usually requires some longer range shooting (compared to Pennsylvania). I bow hunted a little in the past but have not done so recently. Not enough time. I just watched 'Traitor' starring Don Cheadle. Check it out, its a pretty good movie. Chat with you soon. Have a great holiday weekend.
