I suppose I should have taken something more like that position when I was younger. But back then I was interested in the comfort that the feeling of a woman's arm's around my gave.
Unfortunately, it couldn't be just any nice responsible, sensible, kind, productive human being. No, they had to fit a formula. Around 5' 4" and slender. That cut about 90% of the women of the USA out right there. This I consider major misfortune in my life . . . this formula bit. I see it as a major shortcoming on my part as well, and very superficial. And oh ya, I tried to overcome it. For years . . . but nothing I did could get the short slender woman requirement out of my brain.
Sad for me and sad for women I could have connected with . . . and was very compatible with. I paid though, believe me, for the blinders I had and still have on regarding how I perceive what makes a woman attractive although variations have emerged.
And I apologize to any woman out there not fitting the cookie cutter of my prefab requisites . . . believe me it is not you. It is an innate fault of my own.
Some have said that men tend to fall for women that have a similar physical appearance as their mother's and that women do the same for their dad's. Kind of a Freudian thing. In my case that's true as my mother was . . . . around 5' 4" and slender. Also had dark brown hair and I've always found myself with women who have dark brown hair . . . but maybe that's because its so common.
At this point in my life, I'm sixty but mentally I'm still about 25 in many ways except that when I see a woman like yourself (that is your real picture . . . right, communemovie.com, that seems to fit that prerequisite . . . 'cause you look fairly short in stature, slender and by golly you have brown hair. If that's not you then I'm talkin' about the woman in that picture, lol. And believe me, I noticed that right off months ago when you first came to my attention because we had similar tastes in a few movies and the system listed you and your picture. But rest assured, although you fit that image of mine, at this point in my life, the feelings I get are feelings of a paternal nature, that is, I'm feeling feelings of protectiveness, and to avoid the complexity of description, I'll just say feelings of a fatherly nature, nurturance, etc I guess one could say.
Well, this turned out to be a long and frank comment . . . you haven't had any for a few months so this'll make up for it.
BTW, if you are inclined to speak in a frank way, I'd like to hear your observations on the particulars as you experience the dating scene. I assume you are dating, yes. Or perhaps you are attached. Doesn't matter. Being 60 yo goes a long way in . . . how should I say, taking the man/woman complexity out of a conversation, that is, a conversation that a single man and a single woman of the same age would have would be of a different character of the one you and I might have I can assure you of that.
Besides being probably at least 30 years older than you, more like 40, I have taken a vow of celibacy. Yes . . . and that's no lie. I haven't had . . . well, lets just say my vow of celibacy as remained true since I made it eight years ago. The good part is that besides being much older than most women, the issue of sex is dismissed and I must say I like this much better than the other way. Should have done it years earlier.
Well, this has gone far beyond talk of movies . . . but there ya go. That's me . . . Gemini, Mercury conjunct Mars in Gemini which among other things means I have a mouth that won't stop . .. at certain times anyway. But I go to stop know 'cause you'll be thinkin' I'm some kind of psycho writing on like this in your comment box.
BTW, I used to write fiction but the one novel I wrote so exhausted me emotionally that I have never taken the keyboard out to write another one.
